AirTrain connects with MTA New York City Transit subways and buses and the Long Island Rail Road, providing a low-cost way to travel by mass transit to major destinations in New York and New Jersey. Best of all, you never have to worry about traffic and can lower your carbon footprint. Travel around the airport: Take AirTrain free AirTrain makes frequent stops everywhere around the airport: airline terminals, parking lots, hotel shuttle areas and rental car facilities. What's more, every AirTrain ride around the airport is free. The service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Disembark the train at the Sutphin Blvd/Archer Av/JFK station. Follow the signs to AirTrain and swipe your AirTrain MetroCard to enter the system. Travel time via subway and AirTrain is approximately 60–75 minutes from midtown Manhattan to JFK. AirTrain travels to JFK from Jamaica Station every 15 minutes and will take you to your airline terminal. For more information, call (718) 777-5111. NYC Bus Service to and from JFK Three NYC bus routes operated by the MTA provide direct service between the airport and nearby neighborhoods. These buses stop on the roadway adjacent to Terminal 5, and can be accessed via a free on-airport AirTrain trip to the Terminal 5/6 station. The three local bus routes include: Q10 Bus: Local service to Queens. Connect to NYC subway train A at Lefferts Blvd. and E and F at Kew Gardens. Q3 Bus: Local service to Queens. Soliciting of ground transportation is illegal and many illegal solicitors are unlicensed and uninsured. To obtain ground transportation information, please visit the Port Authority Welcome Center located in the arrivals area of each terminal, where uniformed staff will be happy to assist you. Alternately, you may head directly for the taxi stand located outside each terminal for safe and legitimate transportation. Ignore non-uniformed people offering to assist with baggage.
