Marquise is currently studying Percussion in the studio of Jim Robl. Marquise is involved in Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Bell Choir and Concert Band. In Concert Band, he plays the Blue Trombone. Outside of his Music Major classes and ensembles, he is involved in many different things on campus! He is the Vice President of SNC Klezmer Ensemble, Secretary of SNC Acafellas, Social Media Chair for Black Student Union, a Program Assistant at the Cassandra Voss Center, SNC Tour Guide, and is a part of the National Association for Music Educators and Knight Theatre. He would like to thank his mom Felecia Weatherall and his sister Maya Weatherall, his girlfriend Jeana Palmer, his roommate Jonathan Tesch, friends, and the whole entire Music Department for the support and encouragement for him to become a great musician! Emily Martin is a sophomore from Milwaukee, WI majoring in Music Education with a certification in vocal, instrumental, and general music. She is also getting a certificate in Spanish. Emily has participated in many musical ensembles during her time at SNC including chamber singers, concert choir, wind ensemble, concert band, hand bell choir, flute choir, and knight theatre. Outside of these ensembles, Emily is also a part of NAfME, Cru, and works as a student coordinator for the Campus Wide team at the Emmaus Center. Emily is very grateful for the opportunity to perform at the Honors Recital and is very thankful to her family, friends, and teachers for all their encouragement and support. Kassidy Freund is a Junior from Fond du Lac, WI studying Instrumental and General Music Education. Kassidy has studied under Dr. Eric High during the last three years. She has participated in numerous ensembles within her time at St. Norbert College including Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Brass Ensemble. She also has held the position as Band Assistant in the music department. In addition, Kassidy is an active member in the college’s Nafme chapter, holding roles such as Treasurer and Vice President. Kassidy would like to thank her parents, fiancé, and professors for their continued support and encouragement throughout her musical endeavours. Anna VanSeveren is a senior from Green Bay, WI graduating with majors in English Creative Writing and Communication & Media studies and a minor in Music. After graduation, Anna will be attending the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for an MS in Library and Information Science. During her time at St. Norbert, she was the head copy editor and Entertainment section editor for the SNC Times and a writing consultant at the Writing Center. She was a member of both Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society and Phi Kappa Phi Academic Honor Society; in addition, she was the 2020-21 recipient of the Mary McHale Wood Endowed Award for Excellence in Writing. She also worked with Dr. Kretz on a research study about the persuasive effects of media on attitudes and intended behaviors. She would like to thank all of her family and friends for their unwavering support over the last four years, but especially her mom and dad. Finally, Anna would like to thank Elaine Moss for her guidance and for encouraging her to play as many nocturnes as her heart desired! Katie Coyle is a junior music education major pursuing certification in choral, instrumental, and general music. After spending one year at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, she transferred to St. Norbert College as a sophomore and has continued with studies in music education. Katie is in the vocal studio of Dr. Sarah Parks and is currently finishing her fourth semester in the studio. She also recently presented her junior recital on clarinet after two semesters of study with Dr. Christopher Greco at Benedictine and four semesters with Mr. Nicklas Waroff at St. Norbert. She has played in the SNC Wind Ensemble all four semesters and has sung with the Chamber Singers for one semester and the Concert Choir for three semesters. Katie enjoys using her musical gifts to praise God through the music ministry in various settings. She looks forward to investing her time and energy in future vocations where she can evangelize and share the love of Christ, which can so often be done through the beauty of music. Katie would like to thank all of her professors for their support and expertise, her family and friends for their love and various contributions to this journey, and above all God for giving us the gifts of music, passion, and joy. +AMDG+ Jonathan Tesch is a junior from Seymour, WI studying general and instrumental music education. He is currently studying oboe in the studio of Dr. Andrea Gross Hixon. During his time at St. Norbert College he has participated in Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Bell Choir, Concert Choir, and Jazz Ensemble; most notably playing Oboe, English Horn, Alto Saxophone, and Soprano Saxophone. Jonathan has also been involved with several student organizations on campus including NAfME, SNC Rowing Club, Knight Theatre, and Acafellas. He is particularly proud of his time directing the pit orchestra during the 2021 performance of Knight Theatre Through the Years. On the cusp of complete recovery from two broken arms in October of 2020, he is happy to be back playing his instruments again, with much appreciation for everyone who helped him through the rough patches. Jonathan would like to thank his parents David and Mary, sister Lizzie, ‘uncle’ Peter, girlfriend Sam, roommate Marquise, fellow colleagues, music faculty, and all family and friends for their continued love and support. Nathan Perttu is a junior from Green Bay, WI and a music education major. So far at SNC, he has participated in various instrumental ensembles within the music department, including wind ensemble, jazz band, brass ensemble, and was involved in Knight Theatre in the pit band for the last two productions. Nathan mainly plays the tenor trombone, but has experience playing all low brass instruments in different ensembles and plans on teaching band classes in a secondary school setting. He would like to thank everyone in his family who helped give him the opportunity to study music and have supported him throughout his journey at SNC, and also hopes that everyone enjoys the performances! Emma Kindness is a junior from West Bend, WI and will graduate next spring with a degree in General and Choral Music Education (K-12). Emma has studied voice under Dr. Parks for six semesters. Along with voice, Emma has performed in Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Opera Workshop, Knight Theatre, and local community theatres. Emma was last seen on stage as Rosemary in Musical Masquers’ How to Succeed Without Really Trying and as an ensemble member in Knight Theatre’s Tuck Everlasting. Also, Emma is the President of Saint Norbert’s National Association for Music Education and is a member of Cru. She would like to thank the music faculty for this opportunity, Dr. Parks for being her supportive voice instructor the past three years, Dr. Niu for being another encouraging voice faculty member, her family and friends for all the love and support over the years, and to the Lord above..
