From the critically acclaimed Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones to The Walking Dead and Hell on Wheels, MacLaren has mastered the art of turning heart‐stopping action scenes into unforgettable character studies. MacLaren has directed some of Breaking Bad‘s best and most pivotal episodes, beginning with Season 2‘s “4 Days Out” and ending with Season 5‘s jaw‐dropping shoot‐out “To‘hajiilee.” Hitfix‘s Alan Sepinwall wrote “4MacLaren shoots every image of Walter White in the desert like it's the conclusion of an epic feature film, Walter of Arabia." VIFF Film and Television Forum runs October 1 ‐ 4, 2014. Now in its 29th year, the Forum is western Canada‘s premier industry event for film and television professionals. The 2014 Forum will be quite possibly the most exciting ever, with a tremendous roster of top‐tier Canadian and international film and television talent in Vancouver for four intensive days of industry‐relevant master classes, panels, labs, individual meetings and networking receptions. The Directors Guild of Canada (DGC) is a national labour organization that represents over 3,000 key creative and logistical personnel in the screen‐based industry covering all areas of direction, design, production and editing. The DGC negotiates and administers collective agreements and lobbies extensively on issues of concern for members including Canadian content conditions, CRTC regulations and ensuring that funding is maintained for Canadian screen‐based programming.
