A healthy diet is a key factor to the academic performance of students. Many children and young people spend most of their day at school and at times the only “hot meal” of the day. Therefore, the school considers that the meals served in the school dining room should be healthy, hygienically safe and should fulfill the nutritional and energy needs of all students. The amount needed for a healthy diet varies from person to person, taking into account their age, weight and the health of each individual as well as the amount of physical activity practiced. It is therefore a concern on the school to supply healthy foods, such as: meat, eggs, vegetables, pasta, etc. The introduction of soup in food should be encouraged from childhood, so that it can become a lifelong habit and a source of healthy nutrients. “Empathy” between the child and soup is created when it is introduced and consumed in a pleasant environment and should not be imposed as an obligation or punishment.
