George Bush Library

The George H. W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum Tour One of the top attractions in the State of Texas, the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum creates a museum experience that is both educational and entertaining. The George H. W. Bush Library and Museum is located on the Campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, 90 miles from Houston. The Museum was dedicated on November 6, 1997 and rededicated on November 10, 2007. The museum’s core exhibits reveal the unique influences and challenges that shaped George Bush’s life and presidency, and frequently changing temporary exhibits present visitors new and interesting perspectives of President Bush. Through artifacts, film, photographs, documents, music, sound effects and interactive videos, this special museum experience encompasses much of U.S. history since 1941. See a World War II Avenger Torpedo Bomber, a 1947 Studebaker, a slab of the Berlin Wall, and precise replicas of President Bush’s Camp David and Situation Room. In addition, a special section is dedicated to First Lady Barbara Bush and her efforts on behalf of literacy, AIDS awareness and prevention, and volunteerism. The Bush Family Gravesite is located on the grounds of the George H.W. Bush Presidential Center. The Bush Family Gravesite, quietly nestled behind the Presidential Pond on the Center grounds, creates a tranquil space for honoring and remembering the life of President George H.W. Bush, First Lady Barbara Bush; and their daughter, Pauline Robinson Bush. The three headstones read: Hon. George Bush June 12, 1924 – November 30, 2018, Barbara P. Bush June 8, 1925 – April 17, 2018 and Robin Bush December 20, 1949 – October 11, 1953. Bush’s daughter was originally buried at Putnam Cemetery in Greenwich, Connecticut, but was re-buried at the library in 2000. The Texas Lone Star Chapter has arranged transportation to The George H. W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum leaving on Wednesday, August 5 at 10:00 AM and returning at 5:00 PM. The cost is $35 per person which includes round trip transportation from Houston to College Station, Texas and guided tour of the Library. Due to the distance and travel time of about 3 hours total round trip, we have planned a stop at a popular Texas Bar-B-Q restaurant in College Station. Lunch is not included in the price and is on you. Register now and don’t miss this great tour. 10/17/19 .
