Temple celebrated Navratri. Several cultural activities like tabala, Bharatanatyam, kuchipudi, odissi dance, violin, abhisheka, homa, chandi patha and satsang are performed at Temple and Ananda hall. Swami Narayanandaji talked about Navratri. Navratri festival The Navratri festival is the nine-day celebration to honor the very soul of the universe – the divine holy mother. It is celebrated twice a year, once in Chaitra masa and the other in Ashwija masa. The nine night’s festival of Navratri begins on the first day of Ashwija masa (Month) of the bright fortnight. The festival comes to an end on the tenth day of Vjay Dashmi or Dussehra. Dussehra, meaning ‘ten days’, becomes dasara in popular parlance. The Navratri festival or ‘nine day festival’ becomes ‘ten day festival’ Namastheasthu Mahamaaye Sripeete Surapoojithe | with the addition of the last day, Vijayadashami which is its Shankha Chakra Gadhahasthe Maha Lakshmi Namosthuthe|| culmination. I worship Sri Maha Lakshmi AWARENESS of the Supreme Consciousness and experience Her with all devotion. Grace and Love. It is a time for self-development with a strong sense of righteousness, self-purification and self-transformation, so we can receive Mother Goddess’s Grace, her Love and experience her Divine Energy. For nine days, we embark on a spiritual journey to cleanse our body and mind and connect with the Divine Energy through self-discipline in daily activities and praying to the Goddess Mother Durga to replace our short thinking senses with vices and if we conquer our lower thinking with mother blessings comes through divine qualities of non-violence, love, forgiveness, contentment, humbleness, and equanimity.
