So many of you stepped outside of your comfort zone to try something new and you did amazing!! Be proud Lions. This year definitely took a turn, due to COVID-19, making us find the change in the ways we support our communities. It always warms my heart to see Lions working together embracing each other’s ideas with care and com- passion to make sure all ideas turn into reality and succeed. Your communities thank you for your commitment. I would like to thank all the Lions and Lions Clubs that were able to support my personal goal of raising funds for a Lions Foundation of Canada Autism Assistance Support Dog. To date, I am over 1/2 way there. Yes, I hit a big Corona road bump this spring but that won’t stop me from reaching my goal. (I happen to have some DG dragonfly pins left ) I would like to thank my biggest supporters over this past year who gave up much of their time and energy and been my foundation, even during my absenteeism. My loving husband Lion Doug and my 3 amazing kids who make me proud everyday Lion Jeanetta, Lion Katelyn, and Lion Cameron. And the biggest joy in my life, my granddaughter Charlotte. I am a volunteer because I believe that it is better to give than to receive. Many non-lions have asked me if I got paid to do this. I say no, not in dollars, but the rewards in my heart are priceless. Thank you all for an amazing year of adventures, learning, thankfulness, humbleness, humour, and fulfillment. I wish DGE Lion Jane a great year. Don’t blink too long, your year will fly by too quickly. I ask that you give DGE Lion Jane all the patience and support you can as this is not the way any Dis- trict Governor should have to enter their term with so many challenges in front of them. We are Lions, we support each other, we will make it through this tough time. We can and will “be the change” that our communities need to make it through this rough time.
