All-Stars programme provides a good platform for students to engage in fun co-curricular activities with their peers,” said Celcom Axiata Berhad’s Chief Marketing Officer, Zalman Aefendy Zainal Abidin, adding that the S.O.X. All-Stars programme kicked off with S.O.X. All-Stars March and Cheer in year 2009. "Due to the overwhelming response we received from the first edition ‘March and Cheer’, we embarked on the second edition known as ‘Drum and Dance’ early last year. The programmes under the S.O.X. All-Stars umbrella promote excellence in a range of areas for the benefits of a student’s overall development, encompassing Academic, Music, Sports, Science and Technology as well as Environment. The S.O.X. All-Stars Hoops is a new chapter under the sports pillar and we plan to venture into the other areas in the near future. We hope that the S.O.X. All-Stars will serve as a platform for the youth to communicate outside the classrooms and help cultivate interests in extracurricular activities as they are equally important as academic results,” Zalman further added. Four preliminary rounds were held nationwide namely at Sarawak (East Malaysia); Kuala Lumpur (Central Region); Melaka (Southern Region) and Perak (Northern Region) whereby the top 4 teams from each preliminary rounds travelled from their respective states to the Grand Finals event in Kuala Lumpur.
