Material for this Report was compiled in March 2005 and accordingly there is no financial data in respect of 2004 included. Paul Farrell Cláraitheoir na gCara-Chumann 4 Statement of Strategy MISSION STATEMENT “To ensure that the various mutual entities registered at the Registry, which are subject to general regulation and supervision in varying degrees by the Registrar of Friendly Societies, comply with their statutory obligations and to maintain an up to date public record on those entities”. ROLE OF THE REGISTRY WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT OF ENTERPRISE, TRADE AND EMPLOYMENT “To play an effective role in helping to implement the Department’s Strategic Goals 4 and 5 to effect a business regulatory system which is to the forefront of international standards, commands public confidence and international respect and to ensure delivery of enhanced responsiveness and quality customer care and to play a constructive role in implementing an effective statutory framework for the development and supervision of co-operatives and credit unions in accordance with the Department’s Objective 4(i)”. OBJECTIVES 1. The efficient and effective registration and general regulation of Industrial and Provident Societies, Friendly Societies and Trade Unions. 2.
