Jan, Arnold’s widow, has generously asked that the proceeds of the Auction and Sale be donated to the Federated Mountain Clubs of New Zealand (FMC) Mountain and Forest Trust. Arnold’s unique book collection is strong in mountaineering and exploration – ranging from the Himalaya and Tibet, through Central Asia and Siberia, Europe, North America, to the Pacific. There are many out-of-print books on New Zealand’s mountaineering history, tramping, hunting, geology, ecology, conservation and culture, as well as guidebooks. The buyer must beware. Participants present at the Auction venue should register, and receive a Bidding Number, prior to the Auction. The books will be sold in lots as listed in this catalogue. There are very low reserves on the books - but Books will not be sold if the highest bid is well below a fair price. Payment may be made in cash, or by eftpos or credit card. No GST is payable.
