During the 1950 Taiwan was largely an agricultural economy, and Huang started the business from scratch. Years of hard work and accumulated experience plus careful attention to quality paid off as Huang's honey gained a solid reputation among consumers. As he reached an age where he could no longer do everything himself, Huang looked for a successor to take up the work. He hoped his three sons would carry on the family business, and the sons were ready to honor their father's legacy by indeed returning home to carry on the task. With decades of hard work by the second generation of Huangs, the business has continued thrive, sales network includes Carrefour, RT-mart, PX-mart and Wellcome etc. Now a third generation of Huangs is taking over the family business. In 2002 the family set up the Tu- Ku Cooperative Farm with the assistance of the Council of Agriculture, also establishing BeeHouse brand and moving on toward more modern methods of operation. 1.2 Business Philosophy BeeHouse is dedicated to research and development of natural bee products that meet 2 the highest international standards for quality. Thus we rigorously follow the guidelines established by ISO 22000, HACCP and HALAL standard, and installed automatic production equipments. It is not an easy job like someone else thought. Since I was a high school student, I already knew that I need to work at my family’s business and take over the company. Therefore, I planned to study some business related department when I was high school student. However, my score of university test let me study in DAFL. This is the reason of way I am here. I practice in my family company which is called BeeHouse. We are one of the most professional bee products company in Taiwan. We have sale bee products such as Honey, Royal Jelly, Bee pollen, Propolis, Enzyme, Vinegar, etc. This is a new domain which I never touch before. In order to know the characteristic or quality of those products, I studied more than ten internal or external books of every kind of products, bees and nutriology about one year ago. After I get in touch with bee products, I realize that how amazing of bee product or bee’s ecology it is. In Taiwan, we may think that honey is just an agricultural product. However, in other countries such as America, Europe or Japan, people think honey is a health care product which can provide many nutrients of human body need. We need to find out the problem and tell everyone that honey is not just an agricultural product. At first, we only worked on how to sell their products. Having gone through 14 many challenges, and now realizes in this field, there exist the most touching and beautiful people and things as well as many secrets remained to be discovered. Although it draws very little attention from other people, it is worth our lifetime dedications. We have the responsibility to share such beautiful thing with other people. Nevertheless, an ecological crisis is hidden that more and more pesticide contaminated and uncontrolled biotechnological products have destroyed the earth and caused environmental pollutions. We saw numerous dead bees lying on the orchard. People sprayed pesticides when fruit trees only blossomed but had not yet fruited. Antibiotics were not given, but antibiotic residues were found. This was due to that water supply for the breeding farm was contaminated. While climate transition is getting serious, we should ask ourselves what we can do and what we can save. When we were taking down about bee breeding farms, we had the chance to meet some couples at 50 to 60 years of age; women usually looked much younger. We wondered if there were some unknown secrets. After looking up many national and international articles, and reading laboratory testing reports, we found out that bee products contain diverse and abundant ingredients. How amazing the mother earth is! We shall keep going to explore such wonderful area! Bees when just hatched begin their different roles of work. They go out in the 15 daytime and return to the nest at night, and flip their wings to get rid of excess moisture in honey. They work day and night to complete their duties in their two-month life. Their hard work gives us bee products, which contain many secret codes of life. How amazing it is! There exists rationality and sensibility in bees' little world. If bees have consciousness like human, how would they think of us? We are going to explore their world. Where does honey come from? Bee collect pollen and nectar and carry it back to the hive where the processes of fermentation and aging result in the product that the beekeeper harvests. There is also having many type of honey. Most honey is classified by the type of nectar source, the region or the season during which it is harvested. Different regions have different kind of plants and the bees may collect nectars such as Longan, Litchi, Orange, Sunflower and multi-flora honey which are harvested at different times of the year depending on when the flowers bloom in their respective areas. Summer, fall, winter and spring may all find their way into the names of various types of honey as it is difficult to offer hard classifications.
