As we celebrate 20 years of caring for the community. we look back with appreciation to all of the people who helped us get to where we are today. We've taken some big steps through the past 20 years. Merging the Mattoon Memorial and Charleston Community hospi- tals was no small feat in itself. And since then we've added a Regional Cancer Center; established six busy community clinics; added countless programs and services; added nearly 11 5.000 square feet during our recent construction; and built a solid staff of physicians. Every step of the way, we've been blessed with the support of so many fine people: our founders, board members, donors. employees, volunteers - and of course the residents of all of the communities we serve. whose trust and confidence we've worked so hard to earn. Our thanks to each and every one. We couldn't have done it without you! SPnAHBUSH - LOLN HEALTH SYSTEM €id1000 Health Center Drive RO. Page 2 1 Comments From The Artistic Director Someone once said it takes three elements to make theatre: a performer, a space in which to perform, and an audience. Without you, that vital third clement, there would be no the- atre -not in Sullivan, not in Chicago, not even on Broadway. So, you can see how impor- tant you are to us, not just because you fuel our coffers, but because you fuel our very artis- tic soul! If you see Lost World or watch reruns of Roseanne, no matter how you react, the dinosaurs (reptilian or human) don't change their behavioral patterns. You have no effect, other than financial, on their performances. In theatre, your presence and reactions alter the energy, the very chemistry, of every single performance. In simple terms, we need you to make our performance complete. It is, therefore, altogether appropri- M. In the future, we their wonderful work and caring, and JR and Millie for their promise to continue to delight, as well as challenge and inspire continuing love and inspiration. It is fun to spend this exciting you. After all, you are our important "Third Element." 40th season with so many special friends! 1 M. Ron Kitchen could be found ushering, filling in as House Manager, or doing anything else that needed to be done. A real theatre enthusiast, he not only was involved in theatre in Sullivan, but assisted in many ways at the Lincoln Theatre in Decatur and Sangamon University in Springfield, and worked with community and high school theatre groups in his hometown of Illiopolis. The following individuals made memorials in his honor following his passing. He will be missed by all who knew him. Arlene Aschermann, Arthur Tracy and Judy Lewis, Scottsdale, Az. Charles C.
