An additional car park is located to the right of the main facility and there is a further smaller public car park outside Accident & Emergency. Disabled parking is available on the lower level of the main car park and at the front of the A&E car park. However, the Trust is encouraging patients, visitors and staff to use public transport where possible as parking on the Hospital campus is limited. Work has begun on the construction of a new 1,140 space multi-storey facility on the site of the previous Donegall Road surface car park. In the interim we face major problems as a result of the loss of the previous surface car park coupled with the opening of the new Cancer Centre. Proposed road works on the Westlink will also create difficulties for those accessing the site. The new development when completed will considerably improve parking facilities for everyone and the current car parking difficulties on-site will be eased during August when approx 330 spaces within the new facility will become available. How much will car parking cost? The car parking tariff is: Up to 1 hour £0.50 1-2 hours £1.00 2-4 hours £2.00 4-6 hours £4.00 6 hours & over £8.00 Lost tickets £8.00 Pay stations are located in the main foyer of the new Cancer Centre and in the main Tower reception area. Public Transport There are excellent public transport links to and from the Belfast City Hospital. Metro Bus routes 9A and 9B pass the Lisburn Road entrance on a regular basis while route 92A bus takes you to the Donegall Road entrance. If you live outside the Belfast area, the simplest way to travel to the Cancer Centre may be by rail. The Hospital is unique in having its own railway station where some 50 trains pass each day on the lines to Antrim, Bangor, Derry, Larne, Newry, Portadown and Portrush. Many of those with cars now prefer to leave their vehicles at suburban stations in order to avoid traffic congestion and the cost of parking in Belfast..
