In a letter dated May 15, 2018, the Commission subsequently approved Mountain Valley’s request and assigned the Project to FERC Docket No. PF18-4-000. This Monthly Status Report provides a brief summary of recent Project activities, including surveys, stakeholder communications, and agency consultations, that have occurred during the reporting period. Project Scope, Filings and Schedule Mountain Valley is seeking a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity from the FERC pursuant to Section 7(c) of the Natural Gas Act to construct and operate the MVP Southgate Project located in Pittsylvania County, Virginia and Rockingham and Alamance Counties, North Carolina. Mountain Valley proposes to construct approximately 72-miles of 24-inch-diameter natural gas pipeline, two proposed compressor stations, and four meter (interconnect) stations and other ancillary facilities required for the safe and reliable operation of the pipeline. Engineering • Civil Survey Progress - (15.5 miles / 21.5% complete) • Preliminary mainline valve site selection is on‐going . • Preliminary pig launcher/receiver site selection and design is on‐going . Compressor Stations Lambert Station (Pittsylvania County, Virginia) at milepost 0.0 and Russell Station (Rockingham County, North Carolina) at milepost 26. • Land o Proposed sites have been identified and survey permission granted for both station sites. • Environmental o Stream and wetland, rare, threatened and endangered species, and cultural surveys are ongoing. • Engineering o Preliminary compressor station designs are underway for both stations. Interconnect Facilities Lambert Interconnect, LN 3600 Interconnect, T-15 Dan River Interconnect, and T-21 Haw River Interconnect. • Land o Locations have been identified and survey permission has been requested. • Environmental o Stream and wetland, rare, threatened and endangered species, and cultural surveys are ongoing. • Engineering ‐going. o Preliminary Interconnect station size and material sizing is on Page 3 of 20 MOUNTAIN VALLEY PIPELINE, LLC MVP SOUTHGATE PROJECT FERC Docket No. PF18‐4‐000 FERC Pre‐Filing Monthly Status Report Period Ending: May 31, 2018 Status Report No.: 1 Resource Reports Initial Draft Resource Report 1 and the Resource Report 10-Summary of Alternatives were filed with the Commission on June 14, 2018. Stakeholder Communications Mountain Valley is committed to actively engage stakeholders throughout the life cycle of the Project and has identified steps to ensure successful ongoing communication with stakeholders, including establishing a Project website (www.mvpsouthgate.com), a toll-free phone line (833- MV-SOUTH), and e-mail ([email protected]). This process was described in the project- specific Public, Stakeholder, and Agency Participation Plan (as filed with the Commission on May 3, 2018). Mountain Valley will continue to meet with stakeholders to discuss the ongoing efforts associated with the Project. Communications to date include: • Government and Non-Government Communications o See attached Table 1. In addition, Mountain Valley is proposing three (3) open houses (one in in each affected county) on June 25, 26, and 28, 2018 to provide information about the Project to all interested federal and state agencies, stakeholders, as well as the public. Communications to date include: o Agency Communications – See attached Table 2. o Bi-weekly phone calls with FERC started on May 31, 2018 and will continue though the Pre-filing Process.
