NOTES FROM DAY ONE MONDAY, AUGUST 22, 2016 NOTES FROM DAY ONE August 17, 2015 SEAHAWKS RUMBLE AT THE RIDGE KICKS OFF BOEING CLASSIC WEEK Tournament Week for the 12th annual Boeing Classic teed off Monday with the annual Seahawks Rumble at the Ridge, featuring numerous local sports celebrities. Mark Rypien, WSU alum and former NFL player with the help of teammates Brett Tucker, Andrew Forrester, Ray Benefield won the scramble with a low round of 57. Jordan Babineaux and his playing partners finished second with 59; Mark Lee, and Steve Largent’s group tied at third with 60. Other notable celebrities included Mack Strong, Dave Krieg, Mike Haynes, Nesby Glasgow, Jacob Green, Slick Watts and legendary golf club designer, Roger Cleveland. All proceeds from Rumble at the Ridge benefit the Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason, and Pete Carroll's "A Better Seattle”. Stan Utley, Eduardo Herrera, Gibby Gilbert III, and Gary Hallberg. PLAYERS TO WATCH The power ranking for this weekend puts Charles Schwab Cup earnings leader, Bernhard Langer at number one. Gene Sauers, Joe Durant, Paul Goydos and Scott Dunlap round out the remaining spots.
