EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Mr. M. Mohan has been obtained permission from District collector Virudhunagar to quarry Savudu for over an extent of 1.47.50Ha in Survey No: 818 (P) at Sundarapandiam Village, Thiruvilliputhur Taluk and Virudhunagar District, Tamilnadu state by District Collector Virudhunagar, Rc.No. KV3/4236/ 2017 Dated: 28.02.2017, for a period of Three months only subjected to submission of Environmental clearance from MoEF / DEIAA, consent for Establishment and Consent for operation from TNPCB. Method of Mining Open cast method of shallow mining is proposed, Machineries like excavators are proposed for quarrying Savudu up to an average depth of 1m. No drilling or blasting is proposed for this type of Savudu Quarrying, it is a conventional eco friendly quarrying operation. Details of other quarries There is no quarry within the radius of 500mt for a radius of 500m around the quarry site 26. Man power About 9 employees 27. Water requirement & Total water requirement for 1.0KLD from water vendors source & nearby bore well. 28. Overburden/Waste There is no overburden anticipated in this area 29. Cost of the project The Project cost: A. Operational cost = Rs. 2,21,000/- B. EMP cost = Rs. 60,000/- Total project cost = Rs. 2,81,000/- CSR Cost (2.5%) = Rs. 50,000/- Total cost = Rs. 3,31,000/- The Prefeasibility report preparing for following condition of Government of India Ministry of Environment and Forests (No.L-11011/47/2011 –IA-II (M) Dated: 24th June, 2013) Venkateshwarapuram reserve forest is located about 4km on the Southern side. Saptur reserve forest is 10km from the Northwestern side. The lease applied area lies on Kovaneri Kanmai. W.Puduppatti Lake is located about 6km from the NorthWestern side. Sathuragiri River is flow about 5km away from the Northwestern side of the area. Eco Sensitive area is situated 3km away from the Southwestern side. The Western Ghats region is situated 5km away from the Northwestern side. There is no CRZ within the radius of 15km. The project area does not fall in ‘HACA’ region. There is no interstate boundary within the radius of 15km. There are no Bird sanctuaries, wild life sanctuaries and National park as Act 1972, within the radius of 15kms. PRE FEASIBILITY REPORT FOR SUNDARAPANDIAM SAVUDU QUARRY M.MOHAN Under EIA Notification 2006 The following information provided by the applicant I have applied to DEIAA, Tamilnadu for getting Environmental clearance for the Savudu quarry in S.F.No:818 (P) for over an extent of 1.47.50Ha, Government land in Sundarapandiam Village, Thiruvilliputhur Taluk and Virudhunagar District. I swear to state and confirm that within 5km / 10km area of the quarry site, I have applied for environmental clearance; none of the following is situated. Protected areas notified under the wild life (protection) Act, 1972. Critically polluted areas as notified by the central pollution control board constituted under water (Prevention and Control of pollution) Act 1974. Eco – Sensitive areas as notified. Interstate boundaries and international boundaries within 5km radius from the boundary of the proposed site. There are no quarries located within 500m radius from the periphery of my quarry. There will not be any hindrance or disturbance to the people living on enrouted / nearby my quarry site while transporting the mined out material and due to quarrying activities. No habitations / Villages are located within 500m radius from the periphery of my quarry. I swear that Afforestation will be carried out during the course of quarrying operation and maintained. The required insurance will be taken in the name of the labourers working in my quarry site. Approach road belongs to local panchayat only and no other private patta roads encountered. I will not engage any child labour in our quarry site and I aware that engaging child labour is punishable under the law. All type of safety/ protective equipments will be provided to all the labourers working in my quarry site. No permanent structures, temples, etc, are located within 500m radius from the periphery of my quarry. PRE FEASIBILITY REPORT FOR SUNDARAPANDIAM SAVUDU QUARRY M.MOHAN Under EIA Notification 2006 (ii) Brief description of nature of the project Mining: The Lease applied area is undulated terrain, The Savudu quarrying by opencast method of shallow mining is proposed. Machineries like excavator are proposed for quarrying of Savudu. No drilling and blasting is proposed. There is no formation of bench; the quarrying is a restricted to a depth of 1m in the entire area. The applicant intends to use this Savudu especially for filling and leveling of low lying areas for public Projects in and around the district. The proposed quantity of Savudu: There is no top soil. The waste material is not anticipated during the quarry operation, the entire Savudu is excavated and utilized. The total mineable Reserves are calculated up to a depth of 1m below the ground level = 14750m3 or 5200Unit. The District Collector is recommended to quarry only 3000unit from the total volume of 5200Unit. The Mineable reserves of Savudu are computed about 14750m3 up to a depth of 1m for the period of three months. (iii) Need for the project and its importance to the country and or region The Savudu quarrying project falls in the area of Virudhunagar District, Tamilnadu where scanty agricultural activities are been carried out and the new industries are springing up in the district. Savudu is an important commercial product, with a number of applications. The applicant intends to use for filling and leveling of low lying areas for public Projects. This project will give employment opportunities to 9 members directly. Mineral Industries of the state of Tamilnadu provides employment opportunities for the people of the state as well as in the specific project area.
