The Yard benefited from a balanced offensive attack. The top 2 hitters in the lineup, 2B Alex Sink ('04, Ragsdale HS, Jamestown, SC) and SS Cale Iorg ('04, Karns HS, Knoxville, TN) each reached 3 times on 2 singles and a walk. 1B Travis High (Wesleyan Christian Academy, Kernersville, NC) had a double and single and 2 Rbi's. RHP Dontavious McDowell ('04, The Tucker School, Atlanta) got the win with 3 innings of 1-hit, 7 strikeout relief. The Bombers scored 3 runs early with the help of Knoxville walks. RF Chris Wiley ('05, Hartselle HS, AL) had 3 singles for the Bombers but was stranded on base twice and thrown out at the plate the other time. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Central Florida Red Raiders @ East Cobb Giants July 15, 2003 Score by Innings: 123 456 7 R H E Central Florida R...000 020 0 2 4 0 East Cobb Giants....120 100 X 4 7 0 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Page 1 JrdivBoxscores Central Florida Red Raiders AB R H BI East Cobb Giants AB R H BI -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Will Cherry, 11 3 0 0 0 Chris House, 14 2 0 0 1 Tye Buckner, 45 3 0 0 0 B. The Raiders, who just finished another tournament late Sunday night, were missing players and got off to a predictable slow start in the 9:00 am game. Meade retired the first 11 Raiders hitters with little trouble before a 4th inning walk. The Giants scored a run in the first inning when SS Brenton Cianci (Riverwood HS, Atlanta) singled and came all the way around on Central Florida wild pitches and passed balls. East Cobb added 2 runs in the second on an Rbi single by LF Anthony Fusco ('05, Lassiter HS, Marietta, GA) and a bases loaded squeeze by CF Chris House ('05, Pope HS, Marietta, GA). LHP Shawn Newman ('05, Bartram Trail HS, Oviedo, FL) pitched the last 5 innings for Central Florida, hold East Cobb to 1 run. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Columbia Angels @ All Star Baseball Acad.
