At the same time, thousands of bullfighting enthusiasts are awaiting the arrival of Don Sebastian, a famous matador from Spain, whos been delayed due to passport issues. When Hotshot Coleman, a press agent, realizes that Stan could be Sebastians twin, he tries to convince Stan to assume the matadors identity. But when Stan refuses, Coleman threatens to tell Richard K. Muldoon the detectives whereabouts. Apparently, Stan and Ollie were responsible for Muldoons wrongful imprisonment, and Muldoon swore revenge. Under the circumstances, Stan and Ollie have no choice but to go along with the plan, leading to hilarious moments, especially when the real Don Sebastian shows up at the arena. Stan Laurel; Oliver Hardy; Margo Woode 12/04/2018 024543586425 Dancing Masters, The DVD-5 1943 Owners of the struggling Arthur Hurry dance studio, Stan and Ollie have only one paying customer, socialite Trudy Harlan. Trudys boyfriend is Grant Lawrence (Robert Bailey), an aspiring inventor who has created a new kind of flame thrower, but he lacks the money to market it. In a misguided attempt to help Grant, Ollie remembers an insurance policy he had taken out on Stan, so he arranges an accident involving Stan so they can get a big settlement. The plan results in a crazy bus ride, and ends up with Ollie breaking his own leg. THE DANCING MASTERS is a hilarious must-see, with an appearance by a very young Robert Mitchum in an uncredited role as an insurance racketeer. Stan Laurel; Oliver Hardy; Trudy Marshall 12/04/2018 024543586432 Dolly Sisters, The DVD-9 1945 Betty Grable and June Haver pour on the singing, dancing and showbiz razzmatazz in this jaunty tale of sisters who become vaudeville sensations in Europe and America. Grable, then in the fourth year of her decade-long reign as a top 10 box office star, grabs the spotlight as Jenny, a gifted performer torn by career demands and by her on-again, off-again romance with a Tin Pan Alley tunesmith (John Payne). Laced throughout are songs (including the 1946 Oscar - Nominated song I Cant Begin to Tell You) and splashy production numbers that let the GIs favorite pinup girl show off her talents and the gams that Fox, in a noted publicity stunt, had insured for a million dollars. OSCAR is the registered trademark and service mark of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Betty Grable; John Payne; June Haver 11/27/2018 024543586319 Mother, Jugs & Speed DVD-9 1976 This dark comedy revolves around the lives of ambulance drivers who work for a small, low-budget Los Angeles company. Bill Cosby plays Mother, the protective and experienced one who takes care of the motley bunch. Raquel Welsh is Jugs, the snooty company secretary who wont give the drivers the time of day. Speed (Harvey Keitel) is the new guy, an ex-cop and Vietnam veteran in trouble with the law for drug dealing. Director Peter Yates (Bullit) and screenwriter Tom Mankiewicz successfully depict the frenetic pace of life for freelance ambulance drivers, with a tone similar to that of M*A*S*H. The film is largely an exploration of the day-to-day experiences of the company crew, and their frequent encounters with unusual characters as they compete with a rival ambulance company to transport injured persons. The subject matter also allows for plenty of action, with car chases scattered throughout the film. Bill Cosby; Raquel Welch; Harvey Keitel 11/27/2018 024543586333 Murder Over New York DVD-5 1940 In Murder Over New York, Charlie Chan (Sidney Toler) attends a police convention and winds up tangling with saboteurs who are knocking Allied planes out of the air. The gangs leader is so clever that hes eluded Scotland Yard for three years. But Charlies ingenious trap tricks the evil mastermind into revealing his own identity! Sidney Toler; Marjorie Weaver; Robert Lowery 11/27/2018 024543586340 Myra Breckinridge DVD-9 1970 Gore Vidals novel gets a campy translation in this controversial film. After his surgery in Europe, Myron Breckinridge (Rex Reed) returns to the United States as Myra (Raquel Welch), insisting that she is the widow of Myron. Before too long, she enrolls in an acting school and comes under the tutelage of Buck Loner (John Huston), and meets talent scout Leticia (Mae West). Though Vidal disassociated himself from the film, it garnered attention for its star- studded cast (Tom Selleck makes his first-ever onscreen appearance, and Farrah Fawcett plays a lesbian that falls for Myra) and unabashed embrace of its subject matter, which was considered very risque at the time. Mae West; John Huston; Raquel Welch 11/27/2018 024543586357 On The Avenue DVD-9 1937 In this song-packed Irving Berlin musical, actress Mona Merrick (Alice Faye) infuriates an heiress (Madeleine Carroll) by savagely portraying her in a hit play. When the shows producer (Dick Powell) begins a love affair with the heiress, jealous Mona makes her satirical performance even more scathing, setting off fireworks between the new couple. Dick Powell; Madeleine Carroll; Alice Faye 11/27/2018 024543586364 One Million Years B.C. DVD-9 1967 In this vivid view of prehistoric life, a man from the mean-spirited Rock People (John Richardson) is banished from his home. He soon finds himself among the kind, gentle Shell People and falls in love with one of their loving tribeswomen (Raquel Welch). The twosome decide to face the world together, cut off from all tribal support, alone in a deadly world of hideous beasts and earth-shattering volcanic eruptions. The films pioneering special effects have made it a true science-fiction classic. Raquel Welch; John Richardson; Percy Herbert 11/27/2018 024543586371 Phone Call From A Stranger DVD-9 1952 As the sole survivor of a plane crash, David Trask (Gary Merrill) takes on the responsibility of contacting the families of his fellow passengers. He thinks he knows what to expect, but people have secrets and lives hidden below the surface, and Trask learns that nobody is exactly as they appear. Bette Davis; Shelley Winters; Gary Merrill 11/27/2018 024543586388 Pinky DVD-5 1949 Pinky (Jeanne Crain), a black woman who works as a nurse in Boston, finds she is able to pass for white. Afraid her true heritage will be discovered, she leaves her white fiance (William Lundigan) and returns home to Mississippi. There, she helps her ailing grandmother (Ethel Waters) by caring for her employer (Ethel Barrymore), an imperious plantation owner. When she names Pinky heiress to her estate, the community rises in resentment, triggering a sensational court trial. Subject of a landmark Supreme Court case in film censorship, this story about a mixed-race womans rights against prejudice, became itself, a battle for civil rights. Jeanne Crain; Ethel Barrymore; Ethel Waters 11/27/2018 024543586395 Rose Of Washington Square DVD-9 1939 Set in the colorful Prohibition era, this genuinely captivating (Los Angeles Times) musical stars Alice Faye as a rising Ziegfeld star who is faithful to her crooked, scheming husband (Tyrone Power) even after his showdown with the law. Co-star Al Jolson performs many of his legendary songs. Rose of Washington Square is one of Alice Fayes most popular screen roles and marks her final teaming with Tyrone Power. The film also features some of her most memorable songs, including My Man. Tyrone Power; Alice Faye; Al Jolson 11/27/2018 024543586401 Something For The Boys DVD-9 1944 In SOMETHING FOR THE BOYS, three New York cousins machinist Blossom (Vivian Blaine), showgirl Chiquita (Carmen Miranda), and con man Harry (Phil Silvers) inherit Magnolia Manor, a Texas plantation.
