The International Air Transport Authority (IATA) latest air freight market analysis data point to a year-on-year 8.4 percent increase on global freight ton kilometers (FTKs) in February. The increase was largely attributed to increase in shipments of semi-conductor products, pharmaceuticals and cross-border e-commerce. The positive trend has trickled in to every facet of the industry's supply-chain with many freight forwarding and warehouse companies saying business has picked up in every region across the world. This is, of course, good news for an industry that has suffered many months of uncertainties and challenges after its glorious days. How to keep the momentum going, however, remains a challenge with so many changes in global policies and political scenes affecting the flow of commerce in many fronts.
