Join the Suffolk Division of Tourism at 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2013, in the open-air Pavilion behind the Visitor Center for a FREE screening of Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone. The 2001 blockbuster film features Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Alan Rickman and Richard Harris, and earned over $974 million in worldwide box office receipts. The festivities kick off at the Pavilion, located at 524 N. Main Street in downtown Suffolk, at 6 p.m. with an expected show time of 6:30 p.m. Children will be given a free Hogwarts Express ticket to “board” the Pavilion’s Platform 9 and ¾, and magical snacks and drinks will be available for purchase in the Leaky Cauldron, in support of The United Way. Crafts will be spilling out of Diagon Alley, giving your little one a chance to make some magic. Seating is also available, but chairs, blankets and jackets are encouraged as to make it an even more comfortable evening under the stars. Costumes are not required but are of course encouraged! Rescued from the outrageous neglect of his Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon, a young boy with a great destiny proves his worth while attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Based on the worldwide best-seller by J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is filled to the brim with fantastic adventure. This PG-rated film’s running time is 152 minutes.
