Rural roads make up the balance of the road network. The Government of Madhya Pradesh (GoMP) has been using a combination of budgetary, Public-Private Partnership and ADB financing, to improve road network in Madhya Pradesh (MP). The project will complement the past and ongoing efforts under previously ADB funded road sector projects in the State of MP. MDRs form the key linkage between rural, peri-urban and urban areas. MDRs, have not been specifically targeted for improvement resulting in overall poor road network connectivity. The Project will improve transport connectivity in the state by rehabilitating and upgrading MDRs hereby providing reliable road transport services in the state.
