The clinician will work on specific areas of technique and interpretation determined in consultation with the ensemble’s director. Working with the featured artists will deepen both the interpretation and delivery of your repertoire to make the experience a memorable one Jazz at Lincoln Center Workshop - an opportunity to work directly with JALC clinicians and artists at Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center. Each workshop is a customized collaboration with teaching artists and musicians of the highest caliber, who respond to the individual needs of a student ensemble. Sessions can be adapted to address specific concepts, composers, and genres of jazz. Session will also be adapted to include any Choral students who are not in band. New York Philharmonic Concert - Owens, Mahler & Sibelius - Conductor John Storgårds conducts the Orchestra in selections from Mahler & Sibelius as well as Schumann’s Genoveva Overture with Bass-Baritone artist Eric Owens. Pre Concert Talk - explore in-depth the compositions to be heard and be offered listening insights into the music that will add to their enjoyment of the concert. Post Concert Q & A – a member of the New York Philharmonic will meet with groups after the concert, and answer questions about what it is like to play in the New York Philharmonic, what it is like to be a professional musician, or to answer any questions the students may have. Then your group will explore the history and magic of Disney Theatrical Productions in our prop studio by getting up-close and personal with original props, costumes, and set pieces that bring the world of Disney Theatrical to life on stage.
