Vice-President Published: July 2020 Current State of the Network In 2019 a new stretch of fast road from Vrbovec 2 to Farkaševac was completed by motorway company HAC and handed over to HC for operation. Therefore the motorway network remains the same as in 2018. As on 31 December 2019, the total length of the motorway network in Croatia amounted to 1,306.53 km. Motorways are operated by 4 companies: • Hrvatske autoceste d.o.o. (operates motorways A1, A3, A4, A5, A10 and A11) • Bina-Istra d.d. (operates the so-called Istrian Y – A8 and A9) • Autocesta Rijeka-Zagreb d.d. (operates motorway A6, part of A1 and A7, the Krk Bridge and part of D6 State Road from Novigrad to Netretić) • Autocesta Zagreb-Macelj d.o.o. Opening is Drava Brigde 2.50 planned by Mid 2022 Drava Bridge – Osijek 3.80 Sava Bridge 0.70 A8 Istrian Y: Widening to full Subsection Rogovići – Cerovlje 10.30 motorway profile of the Kanfanar – Matulji existing stretch In 2020, road works will be completed on the total of: • 10.30 km of widening of the existing section to full motorway profile • 0.30 km of bridge The following sections will be opened to traffic in 2020 Motorway Section Km Opening to traffic scheduled Cross-border bridge with Bosnia & Herzegovina over the Sava river, A5 Beli Manastir – Osijek – Svilaj Sava Bridge 0.30 half of the bridge is in Croatia. Opening planned by Mid 2020 Widening to full motorway profile. A8 Kanfanar – Matulji Rogovići – Cerovlje 10.30 Opening planned by November 2020 In addition to the continuation of work from the previous year, the following new works will start in 2020: • 12.62 km of widening to full motorway profile • 6.50 km of new motorway, single carriageway in the first phase Start of new works in 2020 Motorway Section Km Description A8 Kanfanar – Matulji Rogovići – Cerovlje 12.62 Widening to full motorway profile Construction of Novi Vinodolski bypass as a part of the First Phase of Motorway construction of total length of 9.8 km (single lane in each direction) Selce – Novi whereby single carriageway of total length of 6.5 km A7 Križišće – Matulji 6.50 Vinodolski of the future motorway will be built together with 3.3. km of junctions with the state road near Selce and Novi Vinodolski. Opening to traffic is planned in CONCESSIONAIRES MOTORWAYS TOLL OF ASSOCIATION CROATIAN THE the first semester of 2023. HUKA 5 Cost of Investment and Financing The total of HRK 434.55 million (€ 58.65 million) was invested in the construction of new motorways in 2019, while HRK 389.91 million (€ 52.62 million) was invested into sections under traffic. For 2020 amounts are based on Draft Plan of Construction and Maintenance approved by the Supervisory Board of the Company on the 16th January 2020. The initial total investment plan for constructi- on and heavy maintenance amounted to 603.78 mio.HRK (81.48 mio EUR) but due to unforeseen COVID-19 crisis HAC has undertaken acti- vities to adapt its activities to the new circumstances. The Company approved the Crisis Business Plan for 2020 and the Amendments to the HAC Financial Plan for the year 2020 which has been approved by the Croatian Government on 18th May 2020. By these two documents the investment amounts for construction and heavy maintenance have been reduced by 171.18 mio. HRK (23.10 mio. EUR) i.e. to a total of 432.6 mio HRK (58.38 mio.EUR). ** The investment amounts are based on the temporary reports for 2019 *** 1 EUR=7.41 HRK (Average annual exchange rate in 2019, Source: Croatian National Bank) Investments in 2019 (in Mio.
