March 1, 2016 EXPRESSION OF INTEREST Dear Athlete and Parent By way of introduction my name is Amanda Montag and I have been appointed as the manager of the Junior boys and girls track and field team for 2017 Maccabiah Games. The 20th Maccabiah games will take place in Israel in July 2017. The Games are held in Israel once every four years. The best Jewish athletes from around the world compete in Masters, Open, Junior and AWD competitions. The Games are the third biggest international sports competition(by number of sports and competitors)behind the Olympics and the World University Games. Planning is well advanced and online nomination for participants will open on 1 May 2016 and close on 30 June 2016. Selection into the Australian junior track and field team will be by attainment of event specific standards as well as consideration given to athlete current rate of progression and commitment to training. Junior athletes are those born 1999- 2002.
