From the Clerk, City of Winnipeg Museums Board Museums Board Directed Projects Update Submitting a monthly update on the status of the Museums Board Directed Projects. (See Page 6 for attachment) Note: On November 8, 2011, the City of Winnipeg Museums Board received as information the Directed Projects Update, and requested that a list of outstanding budgeted items for 2011 be provided directly to the members of the Museums Board. 2. On May 17, 2011 & June 14, 2011, the City of Winnipeg Museums Board approved an equal grant in the amount of $1,250.00 to each of the following museums: • Dalnavert Museum • Historical Museum of St. James-Assiniboia • The Manitoba Museum • Ross House Museum • St. Boniface Museum • Seven Oaks House Museum • Transcona Historical Museum • Ukrainian Cultural and Education Centre • Western Canada Aviation Museum On March 22, 2011, the City of Winnipeg Museums Board approved a grant for projects that build on the following functional competencies of museums, namely, Collections Management and Conservation & Preservation, with the condition that a final 10% be issued upon submission of each museum’s final project report no later than November 30, 2011. 2 Agenda – City of Winnipeg Museums Board – December 13, 2011 3. From the Museum Coordinator, City of Winnipeg Museums Board City Museums Profile Results Submitting a draft overview of the City Museums Profile results provided to the September 27, 2011 meeting. (See Pages 46 – 47 for attachments) Note: On September 27, 2011, the City of Winnipeg Museums Board received the profile as ongoing information and referred it back to the Museum Coordinator for update and requested the inclusion of references as footnotes for future quarterly profile result reports. On May 17, 2011, the City of Winnipeg Museums Board received the profile as ongoing information and referred it for update and report back to its September meeting, and for further consideration at every quarterly meeting thereafter. On February 22, 2011, the City of Winnipeg Museums Board requested the Museum Coordinator to provide a draft of the City Museums Profile Results. On January 19, 2010, the City of Winnipeg Museums Board approved an amended City Museums Profile and requested that the Museum Coordinator forward it individually to each of the museums for report back. 4. From the Chair, City of Winnipeg Museums Board 2011 Annual Report Outline Submitting for the Board's review and discussion, draft of the City of Winnipeg Museums Board 2011 Annual Report Outline provided to the September 27, 2011 meeting. (See Pages 48 - 50 for attachments) Note: On November 8, 2011, the City of Winnipeg Museums Board received the draft annual report outline as information and requested that a revised outline be submitted to the December 13, 2011 meeting. On September 27, 2011, the City of Winnipeg Museums Board referred the draft 2011 Annual Report back to the Museum Coordinator for further revision and report back to its meeting on November 8, 2011. On May 24, 2006, Council adopted the Heritage Preservation Policy Committee Report, which outlines in the Roles and Responsibilities that the Board will "report to Council . on an annual basis, providing a recap of fiscal expenditures in the past year, and a plan stating goals, objectives and costs projections for the next year." 3 Agenda – City of Winnipeg Museums Board – December 13, 2011 5. From the Museum Coordinator, City of Winnipeg Museums Board 2012 Goals and Objectives (Information not available at time of agenda publication) Note: On October 11, 2011, the City of Winnipeg Museums Board requested that the that the Museum Coordinator provide 2012 Goals and Objectives for consideration at its December 13, 2011 meeting, with the direction that goals and objectives based on discussions which occurred at “The Future for Our Museums” Symposium be included. On September 27, 2011, the City of Winnipeg Museums Board requested that the 2012 Goals and Objectives section of the 2011 Annual Report be submitted for consideration at its meeting on October 11, 2011. On October 11, 2011, the City of Winnipeg Museums Board requested that the Museum Coordinator provide a Results of Operating Grant Applications Review/Summary of Gap Analysis for report back to its November 8, 2011 meeting. 7. From the Chair, City of Winnipeg Museums Board Strategic Planning Verbal Discussion to occur at the meeting.
