Building works have now commenced and locals will soon see our new state of the art facility start to take shape. To mark this significant milestone, I attended an official sod- turning ceremony with Peter Kinsey, President of Long Reef SLSC, Mayor Michael Regan and the Member for Mackellar, Jason Falinski MP. This is going to be a great building and a new heart for life saving on the Northern Beaches. It will serve club members and our local community for years to come. NSW RFS Northern Beaches District Medal Presentation Our local volunteers who form part of the Rural Fire Service Brigades on the Northern Beaches often give dedicated service for decades. I was delighted to be part of recognising the incredible volunteers who keep us as safe as possible from the constant risk of bushfires on the Northern Beaches. Mitchell Davies was one of the many Rural Fire Service members at Warringah Headquarters Station at Terrey Hills who received his award in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Peter McKechnie. Nan Bosler AM Dr Kerry Chant NSW Premier’s Wakehurst Woman of the Year Woman of the Year Dr Kerry Chant is the longest serving NSW Chief Health Officer and has been a familiar and reassuring presence throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Quite simply, she has been our chief COVID warrior. Earlier this year, I was pleased to announce Mrs Nan Bosler AM as the 2021 Wakehurst Electorate Local Woman of the Year, in recognition of her extensive voluntary work over many years. Having made a tremendous contribution to our community over a period spanning more than half a century, Nan was an obvious choice for ‘Woman of the Year’ in our electorate. In 1946, as a young Girl Guide, Nan made a promise to help others. Seventy five years later, Nan has dutifully fulfilled this promise and continues to do so I have worked very closely with Dr as a leading community activist and advocate for youth, seniors and people Chant over the past 15 months as with disability. the Minister for Health and Medical Research and I was delighted Dr Nan, congratulations once again and thank you for all that you do for our Chant was named NSW Premier’s community and beyond!
