As we’re well into the summer months ahead of next chapter it’s a great time to see what’s going on in the borough as well as to refect on the busy start to the year we’ve had. As you will have seen on the front page, the people of Bracknell Forest showed their party spirit in June when we celebrated Bracknell’s 70th birthday. It was great to see everyone come together and get involved at the Community Day and to see people sharing their fond memories of Bracknell. I’m very proud of how far Bracknell has come in its 70 years, especially our town centre. As you’ll see in the story to the right, The Lexicon has been ranked number 29 by industry experts for best shopping destination in the UK. This is a huge step up from our ranking of 255 in 2017! Now the elected council is in place, work to create a new council plan is underway; it will refect the Conservative party manifesto and give the council a clear direction of travel for the next four years. A copy of the plan will be available for residents to view this autumn. We’ve included a guide to your elected borough councillors on page fve. As well as a busy start to the year, we also have an event-flled summer to look forward to in the borough. There are a number of events and activities going on in our local parks, libraries and town centre across the summer months.
