SETTERS No team in the MPSF boasts a pair of quality setters who can run an off ense with equal effi ciency. Senior Matt Wade started 24 matches last season and fi gures to be one of the top setters in the conference this season. Junior Kevin Ker played in 30 matches last season and recorded seven starts. “We’re fortunate to have two quality setters,” said Scates. “Whoever starts will be the one who is playing the best in practice that week.” Practice performance also means consistent serving. Th e starkest contrast between Ker and Wade lies in their success at the service line. Wade served nine aces last season, but made just 24 errors. His short fl oat serve creates problems for many opponents
