Window Hi Everyone! Welcome to the first newslet- By Claire Lacey ter of 2017! Wishing everyone a president@ happy, healthy, prosperous, and pvda.org successful year. Following our Annual General Meeting I have been elected President for a second term. I should like to thank members of our 2015/16 Board of Directors, Committee Chairs, Committee Members and everyone who volunteered in any way that helped us have such a good year. Nothing is possible without the efforts of many people in this organization and I am very thank- ful to share what we do with such great people. Please, join this effort, this year and help us and dressage in Maryland thrive. There is something for everyone when it comes to finding what you can do, that works for you. Contact a committee chair in an area that interests you and see what is available or sign up online. With this bumper color issue we wrap up 2016 with the Charlotte Jorst clinic and the Annual Awards Dinner and we look forward to what opportunities the New Year will bring us and our equine partners. The Jorst clinic was a fabulous event and heavily subsidized by PVDA to bring a fresh perspective and educational opportunity to members. It was such a shame not to see more people taking advantage of that amazing opportu- nity. I realize as much as anyone how time and resources can be limited and need to balance but time marches on. When you look back at 2016 what were the things you did that helped your knowledge, under- standing or skills? As I have said before Riding (and dressage) is a non-linear learning process. This means that every time you put yourself in the presence of it you have opportunity for a breakthrough! Take every chance you can to help you grow in 2017. Explore the opportunities. Life is short…. You write your history!
