It also marks the ninth straight year an American is in the semi-finals at the Newport Casino (11th of last 12 years). Opening play on stadium a court is just the second meeting between the 26-year-old Young and 33-year-old Gilles Muller. Both players are looking to capture their first career ATP World Tour title. The last first-time winner at Newport was Rajeev Ram in 2009 (d. Querrey). Following, the 31-year-old Marcos Baghdatis brings a 3-1 head-to-head advantage over the 37- year-old Ivo Karlovic.
