I would like to recognize the ongoing efforts and thank our office staff: Michèle, Shawn and Hailey. I would also like to thank Monte Miller for his time as our Executive Director and wish him continued success in his future endeavors. As the game of hockey continues to evolve, there will be some additional changes coming this season. To continue on the path we started on last season, body checking has now been removed at the A2 level for Minor Bantam and Bantam. There is now no body checking at A3 for all age categories and now Bantam and below at A2. Cross ice games in the Initiation Program has been a success and will benefit our kids in skill development at an early age. Our goal is to keep more kids in hockey and bring even more into the game. I am certain that will continue to see changes introduced on the national and local level in the next year. Thank you for the efforts of the Board of Directors of Hockey Winnipeg and those that are not returning this season. Hockey is a great game! Please remember, those are our kids on the ice and keep it fun! Have a great season.
