We don’t believe there is one technology that will suit all riding styles and understand the diversity of conditions around the world. As kiteboarding diversifies, Airush has focused on developing various core, rail and laminate technology to ensure the best strength to weight ratio in each product. New developments on high volume boards such as the Flytech Construction ensure we can offer reduced weight in the Converse and Square series. In lower volume products such as the Protoy where massive amounts of flex and damage tolerance are required, we have developed the definitive spinal core. In its second year, our unique Biotech vertical wood sandwich, has proven itself as a benchmark for durability and smooth responsiveness. Core Technology & Construction Technology Kiteboards are exposed to a complex matrix of forces that place significant load on the laminates and cores. Through ongoing development we have optimized the strength, durability and flex response to meet the demands of each rider group. Too much board flex is not always a good thing. Riders who are heavier or ride more overpowered would generally prefer a slightly stiffer board. Riders who are lighter or prefer to ride with slightly less power would normally prefer a slightly more flexible board. Flytech Construction The Flytech construction is most suitable for high volume kiteboards due to its low density and therefore lighter core weight. The lightweight core is combined with unidirectional and standard glass. This ensures the boards remain as light as possible and still survive the abuse. Our unique process allows us to customize the core density based on the volume of the board and allowing various outer skin constructions. The Flytech construction allows us to feature a “shaped” rail, which is more forgiving and ideal for entry level and surf oriented products. Biotech Construction The Airush Biotech construction is a spin of from snowboard technology where a vertical wood core sandwich is combined with a stepped construction and an ABS rail. Wood cores have long been renowned for their feel and smoothness, we combined this with a triaxial construction, his ensures a perfect blend of flex, response and durability. PPT top and bottom. Spinal Core (Now with CRT and Custom X) Only used on our Protoy, the new Spinal core features an exclusive linear foam core for unparalleled damage tolerance and sheer force strength. For 07 our unique “Custom X” laminate enable us to fine tune each board size for maximum pop and response. A combination of wood and glass reinforcing is used around the heel area. The Spinal core offers a strength to weight ratio that is the pinnacle of years of intensive research. Boards featuring our X-Link Lt construction use a combination of the X-Link PVC core with unidirectional and biaxial cloth, together with wood reinforcing in the high impact heel areas. A full top and bottom rail wrap allows for a soft “shaped” rail ensuring the board is more forgiving and stable to ride. A PPT layer on the bottom deck enhances the durability without limiting the flex characteristics. X-Link ABS Construction (Now with Custom X) ABS Our unique X-Link ABS Construction combines the perfect flex and strength characteristics of our X-Link PVC core, with a virtually indestructible ABS rail. The ABS section is inset into the laminate and forms a “grindable” rail that can withstand a significant amount more abuse than a wrapped rail construction. This construction uses a combination of unidirectional and biaxial cloth together with asymmetrical wood reinforcing in the high impact heel area. A PPT layer on the bottom deck enhances the durability without limiting the flex characteristics. ••• •• ••• Custom – X Custom X lamination allows us to fine tune every model and size of board by making adjustments to the angle and orientation of the glass within the laminate. This improves the consistency of flex between each size and model as it allows us to optimize it based on differences, in length, width, thickness and rider requirements of each board. CRT Featured only in our Protoy range, CRT (Carbon Response Tips) have allowed us to reduce the thickness in the tip of the board for increased flex, and at the same time increase the pop and response of the tips, through the use of high modulus carbon fiber in the top and bottom laminates. Code Model Sizes AB07SQ1 Square One 148cm x 52cm AB07SQ2 Square Two 148cm x 47cm Target User: • Complete beginners and first time price conscious customers. The size range satisfies skill levels from schools through to intermediate. The unique design with increased width allows the rider to use safer smaller kites. • Square 1 is aimed at medium to heavy weight learners (70 Kg +) perfect for all school and rental situations. • The Square is aimed at lighter learners (Under 70 Kg) and higher wind test centers. • The Square 2 is also the perfect first board to purchase, due to the versatility of the size and can double as a light wind freeride board. Compared to the Switch • Increased width for maximum stability and early planning. • Eva flip tip for increased safety and earlier easier starting Tech Features Rails Shaped ABS rails for a forgiving ride as the do not catch when turning. Rocker Three stage rocker optimized for upwind performance and early planning. Bottom shape Our Unique “Eye” concave ensure early planning, stability at speed and a softer ride in chop. Outline Derived from our switch Series the Square 1 & 2 feature increased width for ease of use and stability especially in lighter wind. The relatively short length increases the high wind ease of use. Fins The wake series fins offer a combination of good tracking while being forgiving when turning. Heel fins ensure the Squares are easier to drive upwind and hold the heel edge in.
