themat.com | @usawrestling | #BudaWrestle2018 6 National Coaching staff BILL ZADICK U.S. National Men’s Freestyle Head Coach Bill Zadick is wrapping up his second year as the U.S. Men’s Freestyle Coach, taking over for Bruce Burnett after the 2016 Olympics. So far, he boasts three World champions in Logan Stieber, who won the World Championships in December in Budapest, Hungary, and 2017 World champions Jordan Burroughs and Kyle Snyder, who won in Paris, France, last summer. Additionally, Zadick led the U.S. to its first men’s freestyle World Team title since 1995, defeating powerhouse Russia by one point. In Rio, he helped coach Snyder to an Olympic gold and J’den Cox to an Olympic bronze as Assistant National Coach. Zadick has been a part of the U.S. coaching staff since 2009, when he started as Resident Coordinator and Assistant National Coach. He has since worked his way up the coaching ranks and is now head coach of some of the best freestyle athletes in the world. Zadick competed on the 2001 and 2006 World Teams, winning a World title in 2006. He was also an NCAA Division I champion for Iowa in 1996. JOE RUSSELL KEVIN JACKSON Manager of Freestyle National Freestyle Programs Developmental Coach themat.com | @usawrestling | #BudaWrestle2018 7 Volunteer coaches TERVEL DLAGNEV Dlagnev is starting his third year as an assistant coach at Ohio State University. Since taking a position with the Buckeyes, he has helped lead the squad to a pair of NCAA runner-up team finishes and a 2017 Big Ten team title. Additionally, Dlagnev has coached 14 All-Americans in just his two seasons on staff. He also serves as a personal coach for two-time World champion and 2016 Olympic champion Kyle Snyder, who was a three-time NCAA champion for Ohio State. As an athlete, Dlagnev was a two-time Olympian, representing the U.S. in the 2012 Games in London and the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro. In both Olympic appearances, Dlagnev finished fifth. He was a four-time World Team member, winning World bronze medals in 2009 and 2014 and taking fifth in 2011 and 2013.
