February 2006, Modified - June 2011 ▫ Long Island Sound Established compliance schedules for BNR upgrades at the 4 Upper East River WWTPs Provided interim step down limits and a final step down limit to achieve TMDL by January 2017 ▫ Jamaica Bay Established compliance schedules for BNR upgrades at the 4 Jamaica Bay WWTPs Provided a schedule for performance based step down limits ▫ $18 Million in Environmental Benefit Projects 4 5/26/2017 9 May 17, 2013 NYC’s Applied Research Program • Pilot Scale testing at 26th Ward ▫ Developed Step Feed BNR design template for upgrades of NYC WWTPs (Phase I) ▫ Determined glycerol is cost effective carbon source (Phase II) • Full Scale BNR demonstration with carbon addition at Wards Island -
