Game Notes brought to you by: TONIGHT’S GAME – The Colorado Eagles take on the Iowa Wild tonight for just the third time in team history and for the first time at the Budweiser Events Center. THE SEASON SERIES – The Eagles trail in the season series with a record of 0-1-1 after Colorado dropped a pair of games against the Wild in Des Moines, falling 6-5 in OT to Iowa on October 26th and 6-1 on October 27th. THE ALL-TIME SERIES – Tonight marks the third meeting between the Eagles and Wild, both teams are members of the AHL’s Western Conference, with Colorado playing in the Pacific Division and Iowa hailing from the Central Division. EAGLES’ LAST GAME (11/24) – Eagles forward Martin Kaut scored the game-tying goal with 5:19 remaining in regulation and would net the deciding goal in a shootout, as Colorado defeated the San Jose Barracuda, 4-3 last Saturday. The win was the Eagles third consecutive victory and now improves Colorado’s home record to 6-2-2 on the season. Goaltender Pavel Francouz earned his third-straight win in net, stopping 38 of the 41 shots he faced in the contest. WILD’S LAST GAME (11/26) – Defenseman Filip Hronek netted the game-winner 2:53 into overtime, as the Grand Rapids Griffins defeated the Iowa Wild, 3-2 on Monday. Iowa forwards Cal O’Reilly and Gerald Mayhew each collected a goal in regulation, as the Griffins outshot the Wild 37-22 in the contest. LAST MEETING (10/27) – Iowa Wild forward Jordan Greenway registered a hat trick, while the Wild scored three goals in the second period to propel Iowa to a 6-1 victory over the Colorado Eagles. The Wild scored a pair of goals on the power play, while holding the Eagles 0-for-5 on the man-advantage in the contest.
