Buddy Baker is an instantly likable character with a wife and two kids and the silly power to temporarily absorb the abilities of nearby animals, and the opening four-issue miniseries which was all this was supposed to be showcase the character well while also being kind of fucked up in the end. And yes, I will certainly be reading more of Morrison's run on Animal Man. The best single issue in the book. This storyline, spanning 4 issues and including a bestiality-loving Phantom ripoff with some interesting powers of his own, was my favorite story in this collection.
