IWT Development in NER …..On-going efforts z Dhubri-Sadiya stretch (891 km) of Brahmaputra declared as National Waterway - 2 in 1988 z Action Plan approved for making NW-2 fully operational in two years time subject to fund availability z Barak river – declaration as National Waterway (NW-6) under process z CSS for development of feeder routes to NW-2 and other rivers outside NW-2 system z Alternative route linking North-Eastern and Eastern India 4 Infrastructure available on NW - 2 z Floating terminals at Dhubri, Jogighopa, Pandu, Tejpur, Silghat, Jamguri, Neamati and Bogibil. z Least available depth (LAD) of 2 m is maintained between Dhubri and Dibrugarh (768 km) z River Conservancy works namely bandalling and dredging carried out on regular basis z Day navigation channel marks on the entire waterway z Pilotage being provided for IWT vessels z Night navigation aids provided between Dhubri and Pandu(255 km).
