It is only for students who meet ALL of the following criteria: 1. Passed SMUHSD Algebra 1, Fall with an “A-” or better 2. Math Inventory Quantile Score of 1140 or higher 3. 8th Grade CAASPP score greater than 2600 Questions can be directed to the Math Department Heads. (March 1st): 1) Select courses Aeries online 2) Course Request Form (and AS/AP commitment form) signed by parent ● Student Aeries accounts are accessible until March 1st. After that, students cannot make changes until they meet with their counselor. Scheduling ● Classes are year long commitments ○ No class changes at the semester ○ No dropping AP/AS classes ● Specific teacher or period change requests cannot be accommodated ● For detailed course descriptions & prerequisites, refer to the Course Catalog on our counseling website Scheduling Quiz! True or false?... ● All students should take a 7-period day at some point in high school. ○ False! Students do not ever need a 7-period day to earn sufficient credits for graduation/college ○ The 7-period day is recommended for students needing support classes or makeup credits ○ 6-period Day = Less stress & burnout, more balance, and more time for enriching activities! Recommended: 1st Period Off!
