Brief Summary of the Project 1. Introduction M/s. Adilabad Alloys & Associated Industries Limited is proposing installation of Vertical Shaft Kiln (VSK) Plant of 100 TPD Clinker & 165 TPD of Cement and 100 TPD Lime Kiln at Jainath Mandal, Adilabad district, Telangana State. 2. Screening Category As per EIA Notification dated 14 th Sept., 2006 as amended from time to time, this project falls under Category - B, S. No. 3 (Material Production), Project Activity ‘3 (b)’ Cement Plants. 3. Brief Description of Project Location Details: Mandal: Jainath District: Adilabad State: Telangana Area Details: Total Project Area: 55 Acres (22.26 ha) Greenbelt / Plantation Area (ha): 33% of the total project area (i.e. 18.15 acres / 7.34 ha) will be developed under greenbelt / plantation. No National Park, Wildlife Sanctuary, Biosphere Reserve, Protected Forests (PF) falls within 10 km radius from the project site. Reserved forest falls within 10 km radius from the project site are as below- o Satnala Reserved Forest (~4.0 km in SE direction) o Yapalguda Reserve Forest (~6.5 km in SW direction) Water Bodies falls within 10 km radius from the project site are as below: o Penganga River (~9.5 km in NE direction) o Sathnala Dam Reservoir (~6.0 km in SSE direction) o Satnala Right Bank Canal (~1.0 km in South direction) o Lakshmipur Nala (~7.0 km in NE direction) o Satnala (~8.0 km in WNW direction) o Metta Vagu (~7.0 km in WSW direction) o Mathadi Vagu (~8.5 km in West direction) o Nallantiya Vagu (~0.5 km in North direction) Cost Details: Total Cost of the Proposed Project: Rs. 1927 Lakh (VSK Plant - 1008 Lacs & Lime Kiln - 919 Lacs) Basic Requirements for the Project Water Requirement (KLD): The water requirement for Vertical Shaft Kiln (VSK) Plant will be 20 KLD and for Lime Kiln will be 10 KLD. Source: Ground Water 1 Power Requirement (MW): Total power requirement will be around 1.3 MW; which will be sourced from Power Grid, out of which 1.0 MW would be used for VSK Plant and 0.3 MW would be used for Lime Kiln. Manpower Requirement: The estimated manpower requirement for Vertical Shaft Kiln (VSK) plant will be 42 persons and for Lime Kiln will be 49 persons, preference will be given to the nearby villages. Raw Material Requirement: Raw materials required for the proposed project is limestone which will be sourced from Captive Limestone Mine of M/s. Adilabad Alloys & Associated Industries Ltd. and open market; Iron ore / Laterite will be procured from Nagpur Butibori based Sponge Iron Plant; Bauxite will be sourced from Kalahandi (Odisha) and Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh); Gypsum (Indigenous/Imported) will be sourced from Oman & Iran via Vizag port, Synthetic gypsum plant, Chemical gypsum; Fly ash will be procured from SCCL-Singareni TPP, Jaipur, Adilabad, TSGENCO -Ramagundam TPS, Ramagundam, Karimnagar, NTPC Ramagundam, Ramagundam, NTPC-Telangana Super TPP, Ramagundam, Karimnagar and Slag will be procured from Uttam Galva Steels Ltd, Bhugaon, Maharashtra and Sunflag Iron & Steel Co.
