Urban Motion Passed (9-1) The May 28, 2019 Voting Meeting Minutes are Adopted Public Comment Matt Vough provided and update on his work regarding opioids. He announced he will be hosting two opioid awareness forums, one in Wilkes-Barre the end of July and one in Duryea in September. He stated he met with President Leary at LCCC regarding their CRS program. Mr. Vough will be working with the County Manager to provide drug take back boxes at the Rock the River Concert Fest. CCAP Early Bird Registration – If you register for the Annual Conference by June 30, you will receive the early bird rate of $400. Registrations received after that date will be $425. Visit the Annual Conference webpage and read the Conference Registration Brochure (PDF) for all of the Conference details. Special Registration Promotion – CCAP is pleased to again offer a special multiple person registration rate to counties. Four county members can attend the Annual Conference for the price of three! Any additional attendees over and above that fourth free attendee would attend at the full Conference registration rate. Don’t Forget to Make Your Hotel Reservation (See Important Update in Red) – The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Reading is our headquarters hotel and the Courtyard by Marriott Reading Wyomissing, our overflow property, is located about two miles from the DoubleTree. CCAP will be running a shuttle bus from the Courtyard to the DoubleTree Sunday through Tuesday. The room reservation deadline for both hotels is July 5 or when our room blocks fill up, whichever comes first. After July 5, our Conference room rate cannot be guaranteed. Our room block at the DoubleTree is currently sold out. Rooms may open up so please call the hotel directly to check on whether any rooms open up. Additionally, the room block at the Courtyard by Marriott is also close to selling out. No king rooms are available at this time. We also recommend calling the Courtyard instead of booking online. Please be sure to mention the CCAP room block. A list of other Reading area hotels near the DoubleTree and the Santander Arena are available on the CCAP website.
