The poll has been election on May 16: ECP scheduled for May 16 in the Sindh Assembly. Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Abidi had been elected th on Sindh quota. He was asked on April 16 by the party leadership to tender his resignation from the Express Tribune 30 April, 2014 house. According to a statement by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday, the intending candidates can file their nominations on May 5 and 6. Scrutiny of the nomination papers will be held on May 7 and 8. Appeals against approval or rejection of nomination papers by returning officers could be filed by May 9. Final list of contesting candidates will be displayed on May 13. The electoral college for this Senate college are members of the Sindh Assembly.PPP, with its current numerical strength in the provincial assembly, is likely to bag this seat once again. Devolving power: LG ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has decided polls in K-P delayed for 5- to use biometric technology for the upcoming local government elections in one tehsil as a pilot 6 months project, giving up its earlier insistence on using the technology province-wide. By doing so, th however, it has delayed the exercise by another five to six months – no different from the duration Express Tribune 27 April, 2014 the polls would have been delayed by had it opted to deploy biometric technology in all districts.
