Changes effected by Order of the Secretary of State under the Local Government Act 1972 There is 1 Order giving effect to recommendations to change the electoral cycle THE BOROUGH OF EASTBOURNE (WHOLE COUNCIL ELECTIONS) ORDER 2006 – S.I. 2006 NO. 1753 This Order changes the electoral cycle from thirds to whole council elections from May 2007. The Order was made on 3 July 2006 and came into effect on 2 August 2006. 4 Part B. Changes effected by Order of the Secretary of State under the Local Government and Rating Act 1997 1. There are 12 Orders giving effect to recommendations resulting from the district reviews made by the Secretary of State under section 9 of the Local Government and Rating Act 1997. 2. There are 6 Orders giving effect to recommendations resulting from a petition made to the Secretary of State under section 11 of the Local Government and Rating Act 1997. 1. Orders giving effect to recommendations resulting from district reviews made to the Secretary of State under section 9 of the Local Government and Rating Act 1997. *indicates that the local authority has been directed by the Secretary of State to establish a parish council. *THE AYLESBURY VALE (PARISHES) ORDER 2007 – S.I. 2007 NO. 335 This Order created a new parish called Calvert Green. The Order directed the Aylesbury Vale District Council to establish a parish council for the new parish. The Order also transferred areas between the parishes of Aylesbury, Bierton with Broughton, Coldharbour, Dinton-with-Ford and Upton, Fleet Marston, Ivinghoe, Lillingstone Dayrell with Luffi eld Abbey, Maids Morton, Marsworth, Pitstone, Quarrendon, Stoke Mandeville, Stone with Bishopstone and Hartwell, Stowe, Thornborough, Weedon, Westcott, Weston Turville, Wing, Wingrave with Rowsham and Wotton Underwood. The Order was made on 5 February 2007 and came into effect on 1 April 2007. *THE BEDFORD (PARISHES) ORDER 2007 – S.I. 2007 NO. 334 This Order created two new parishes called Great Denham, and Wyboston, Chawston and Colesden. The Order directed the Bedford Borough Council to establish a parish council for the new parishes. The Order also transferred areas between the parishes of Biddenham, Eastcotts, Elstow, Kempston, Kempston Rural, Roxton and Stewartby. The Order was made on 5 February 2007 and part of the Order came into effect on 1 April 2007 and part will come into effect on 1 April 2008. 5 Bulletin of changes to local authority electoral arrangements, areas and names in England *THE CHILTERN (PARISHES) ORDER 2007 – S.I. 2007 NO. 332 This Order created a new parish called Little Chalfont. The Order directed the Chiltern District Council to establish a parish council for the new parish. The Order also transferred areas between the parishes of Little Missenden and Great Missenden. The Order was made on 5 February 2007 and came into effect on 1 April 2007. THE KING’S LYNN AND WEST NORFOLK (PARISHES) ORDER 2006 – S.I. 2006 NO. 3450 This Order transferred areas between the parishes of Hunstanton and Old Hunstanton. The Order was made on 18 December 2006 and came into effect on 1 April 2007. *THE RUGBY (PARISHES) ORDER 2006 – S.I. 2006 NO. 3470 This Order created a new parish called Cawston. The Order directed the Rugby Borough Council to establish a new council for the new parish. The Order also transferred areas between the parishes of Churchdown, Newton and Biggin, and an unparished area. The Order was made on 19 December 2006 and came into effect on 1 April 2007. *THE STOCKTON-ON-TEES (PARISHES) ORDER 2007 – S.I. 2007 NO. 403 This Order created a new parish called Billingham. The Order directed the Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council to establish a new council for the new parish. The Order also transferred areas between the parishes of Billingham, Carlton, Elton, Grindon, Longnewton, Redmarshall and Wolviston. The Order was made on 9 February 2007 and came into effect on 1 April 2007. THE TANDRIDGE (PARISHES) ORDER 2006 – S.I. 2006 NO. 2499 This Order transferred areas between the parishes of Bletchingly, Burstow, Nutfi eld and Outwood. The Order was made on 25 August 2006 and came into effect on 1 April 2007. *THE TEST VALLEY (PARISHES) ORDER 2007 – S.I. 2007 NO. 336 This Order created two new parishes called Enham Alamein and Valley Park. The Order directs the Test Valley Borough Council to establish parish councils for the new parishes. The Order also transferred areas between the parishes of Chilworth and North Baddesley. The Order was made on 5 February 2007 and came into effect on 1 April 2007. 6 Bulletin of changes to local authority electoral arrangements, areas and names in England *THE TORBAY (PARISH) ORDER 2006 – S.I. 2006 NO. 3280 This Order created a new parish called Brixham. The Order directed the Torbay Borough Council to establish a parish council for the new parish. The Order was made on 4 December 2006 and came into effect on 1 April 2007. *THE WARWICK (PARISHES) ORDER 2007 – S.I. 2007 NO. 656 This Order created a new parish called Beausale, Haseley, Honiley and Wroxall. The Order directed the Warwick District Council to establish a parish council for the new parish. The Order also transferred areas between the parishes of Bishop’s Tachbrook, Budbrooke, Halton, Kenilworth, Lapworth, Norton Lindsey, Royal Leamington Spa, Rowington, Sherbourne, Stoneleigh, Warwick, Whitnash. The Order was made on 2 March 2007 and came into effect on 1 April 2007. 1THE WEALDEN (PARISHES) ORDER 2006 – S.I. 2006 NO. 3468 This Order transferred areas between the parishes of Arlington, Buxted, Chalvington with Ripe, Frant, Hailsham, Longman, Polegate, Uckfi eld, Wadhurst, Westham, and Willingdon and Jevington. The Order was made on 19 December 2006 and came into effect on 1 April 2007. *THE WYCOMBE (PARISHES) ORDER 2007 – S.I. 2007 NO. 65 This Order created a new parish called Marlow Bottom. The Order directed the Wycombe District Council to establish a parish council for the new parish. The Order was made on 12 January 2007 and came into effect on 1 April 2007. 2. Orders giving effect to recommendations resulting from petitions made to the Secretary of State under section 11 of the Local Government and Rating Act 1997. *indicates that the local authority has been directed by the Secretary of State to establish a parish council. *THE BASILDON (PARISH) ORDER 2007 – S.I. 2007 NO. 333 This Order created a new parish called Shotgate. The Order directed the Basildon District Council to establish a parish council for the new parish. The Order was made on 5 February 2007 and came into effect on 1 April 2007. 1 Wealden District Council made the Electoral Arrangements Order on 25 April 2007. 7 Bulletin of changes to local authority electoral arrangements, areas and names in England *THE BRADFORD (PARISHES) (NO. 2) ORDER 2006 – S.I. 2006 NO. 3417 This Order created two new parishes called Baildon and Harden. The Order directed the Bradford City Council to establish a parish council for the new parishes.
