SpongeBob Squarepants Scale Drawing Project Due: Wednesday March 6 We have been learning about creating scale drawings of shapes and now you are going to make a scale drawing of Spongebob Squarepants!!! I will give you the dimensions of SpongeBob Squarepants and using graph paper you will make a scale drawing of him. Remember it is a drawing so I would like to see you be creative and for your dimensions to be accurate! You must determine the scale dimensions of his: 1 Face (length and height) Actual Length: 3 feet Actual Height: ??? 3 Pants (length and height) Actual Length: 3 feet Actual Height: 1 Foot 1 Legs (length) Actual Length: 1 feet 3 3 Arms *not including hands* (length): 1 feet 4 On the back of this page is a picture of SpongeBob with his actual dimensions. You ퟏ will make a scale drawing of him the size of his actual dimensions. Anything that ퟖ I did not label you can estimate what a reasonable size would be (example: I did not give you the exact measurement of his hands but you should still draw them at reasonable estimate compared to the size of his body). The units you will be using are inches so you will need a ruler. Remember the actual drawing will be using different units. (Hint: you may have to convert!) Pg 2: picture of Spongebob with actual dimensions Pg 3: An area to complete your calculations (you can use more paper if necessary) Pg 4: Rubric 1 dimensions of spongebob.notebook February 27, 2019 length = 3 Feet square body (including pants) = 4 Feet each arm (not including hand) = 1¾ feet length of pants = 3 feet height of each leg = 1 feet pants = 1 foot 2 Object Conversion (actual units Scale dimension (actual to scale units) dimensions x scale factor) Face (length) Face (height) Pants (length) Pants (height) Legs (length) Arms (length) 3 Rubric Accuracy of calculations: Face o length o width Pants o length o width Legs (length) Arms *not including hands* (length): Accuracy of Measurements (I will be checking each picture with a ruler) Organization Creativity and coloring -Include parts of the face, hands, and shoes. Coloring and effort. Grading 1 – Incomplete/no effort put in 2 – Calculations completed somewhat correctly. Measurements are somewhat accurate. Little effort put in. 3 – Most calculations and measurements accurate and effort is shown both in work and drawing 4 – All calculations and measurements are accurate. Creativity and effort is shown in work and drawing 5 – Went above and beyond! All calculations and measurements are correct. Student exceeded class expectations in regard to drawing and creativity. 4 .
