The concept of the OOP focuses on reducing administrative burden for individuals and businesses by re-organising public sector internal processes, instead of making citizens and business users adjust to existing procedures. It is based on the assumption that collecting information is more expensive and burdensome than sharing already collected information. Hence, this principle proposes to collect information only once and then share this information, respecting other constraints, such as regulations. So far, many European Union countries have started to implement the once-only principle at a national level, while its cross-border implementation is still fragmented and limited to a very few services. Its interior consists of impressive stalagmites and stalactites and is one of the most important and well-known caves in Crete and Greece in general. According to Greek mythology, this cave hosted Rhea to give birth to Zeus and she went there in order to escape from Cronus’ fury. Cronus devoured his children because he wanted to prevent the prophecy according to which Cronus would be killed by his son. The cave is 2200 square meters, it is lighted sufficiently and the visitor can walk around it easily because there is a well formed path 250 m long. *Please note that the stairs can be slippery and it is chilly inside the cave. Arriving passengers can pick up a taxi at the Taxi Station, which can be reached at the Arrival level of the Terminal, available 24 hours a day, all year round. Heraklion Taxis are grey and have a sign on the top of the car with the word "TAXI". The taxi fare from the airport to the city center is about €15, plus luggage fare. The price is doubled between 12h00 mid night and 06h00. The fare for the luggage is also doubled in this time period. Journey time to central Heraklion is around 20 minutes. Pre booked private taxis are also available upon request at extra charge, you may call them in advance from the reception of your hotel, or directly to their call centre, they will come and pick you up from almost everywhere. The bus stop is a couple of minutes’ walk from the terminal building of Heraklion Airport. It is the most economical transportation from / to the airport.
