Changes 4 Frequent Transit Network (FTN) • The FTN will provide frequent and reliable service along key corridors in the urban areas of the Region • A network operating at a 15-minute frequency (or Frequent Transit Network (FTN) Route 2 – Milliken Proposed Service Changes: Existing Routing • As per the FTN, improve frequency during morning and afternoon rush hours Impacts/Improvements: • Morning rush hour frequency improved from 23 to approximately 18 minutes • Afternoon rush hour frequency improved from 29 to approximately 24 minutes Implementation Date: • January 2020 7 Frequent Transit Network (FTN) Route 3 – Thornhill Proposed Service Changes: Existing Routing • As per the FTN, improve frequency during morning and afternoon rush hours Impacts/Improvements: • Morning and afternoon rush hour frequency improved from 30 to approximately 25 minutes • Improved service between Promenade Terminal and Pioneer Village Terminal Implementation Date: • January 2020 8 Frequent Transit Network (FTN) Route 16 – 16th Avenue Proposed Service Changes: Existing Routing • As per the FTN, improve frequency during morning and afternoon rush hours Impacts/Improvements: • Morning and afternoon rush hour frequency improved from 30 to approximately 24 minutes Implementation Date: • January 2020 9 Frequent Transit Network (FTN) Existing Routing Route 20/20B – Jane (NEW) Proposed Service Changes: January: • Improve frequency on weekends/holidays to address overcrowding December: • Restructure Route 20 – Jane to operate into the new Major Mackenzie and Jane Street Terminal • Introduce a new Route 20B – Jane branch operating from Pioneer Village Terminal to the new Major Mackenzie and Jane Street Terminal during weekday midday, Saturdays and Sunday/holidays Impacts/Improvements: Weekday: December: • Rush hour frequency maintained at approximately 14 minutes • Non-rush hour frequency south of Major Mackenzie Drive maintained at approximately 21 minutes • Non-rush hour north of Major Mackenzie Drive adjusted from approximately 20 to approximately 35 minutes 10 Frequent Transit Network (FTN) Route 20/20B – Jane (NEW) Proposed Routing Impacts/Improvements: Saturday: January: • Frequency improved from approximately 18 to approximately 14 minutes (12 minutes during the summer to accommodate seasonal demand) December: • Frequency south of Major Mackenzie Drive improved from approximately 18 to approximately 15 minutes • Frequency north of Major Mackenzie Drive adjusted from approximately 18 to approximately 30 minutes Sunday/Holiday: January: • Frequency improved from approximately 18 to approximately 17 minutes (14 minutes during the summer to accommodate seasonal demand) December: • Frequency south of Major Mackenzie Drive improved from approximately 18 to approximately 16 minutes • Frequency north of Major Mackenzie Drive adjusted from approximately 18 to approximately 33 minutes Implementation Date: • January 2020 – Weekend/holiday frequency increase • December 2020 – Introduce new Route 20B branch 11 Frequent Transit Network (FTN) Existing Routing Route 25 – Major Mackenzie Proposed Service Changes: • As per the FTN, improve frequency during morning and afternoon rush hours • Restructure services in the Cornell area via Cornell Rouge Boulevard and Rustle Woods Avenue • Restructure route to provide services between Major Mackenzie/Highway 7 car pool lot and Markham Stouffville Hospital Impacts/Improvements: • Morning rush hour frequency adjusted from 44 to approximately 27 minutes Proposed Routing • Afternoon rush hour frequency adjusted from 33 to approximately 26 minutes • Approximately 48 passenger trips impacted in the Cornell area • Average walking distance increased by approximately 350 metres • Approximately 300 passenger trips impacted as a result of route restructuring west of Highway 404 Implementation Date: • September 2019 – Route restructuring in conjunction with the opening of the Cornell Terminal • January 2020 – Weekday rush hour frequency increase 12 Frequent Transit Network (FTN) Existing Routing Route 50 – Queensway Proposed Service Changes: • Discontinue limited service in early morning and late evening between Pefferlaw and Sutton due to low ridership • As per the FTN, improve frequency during morning and afternoon rush hours Impacts/Improvements: • Morning and afternoon rush hour frequency improved from 35 to approximately 29 minutes • Improved connections with On-Demand North Proposed Routing • Approximately two passenger trips in Pefferlaw impacted in the morning Implementation Date: • January 2020 13 Frequent Transit Network (FTN) Route 88/88B – Bathurst (NEW) Existing Routing Proposed Routing Proposed Service Changes: • As per the FTN, improve frequency during morning and afternoon rush hours and Saturdays • Introduce a new Route 88B – Bathurst Branch operating Between Finch GO Bus Terminal and Newmarket GO Bus Terminal during morning and afternoon rush hours Impacts/Improvements: • Provide service to new suBdivisions near Davis Drive and Bathurst Street • Provide connections to Town of Aurora • Route 88B Branch to/from Newmarket frequency approximately 60 minutes • Saturday frequency improved from 36 to approximately 29 minutes Implementation Date: • January 2020 14 2019-2022 Budget Reductions Route 15 – Stouffville & Dial-a-Ride Stouffville Existing Routing Proposed Service Changes: • Discontinue weekday conventional service and weekend Dial-a-Ride service due to low ridership Impacts/Improvements: • Approximately 34 passenger trips impacted on weekdays • Approximately 2 to 4 passenger trips impacted on Saturdays and Sunday/holidays • Alternative transit options include Route 9 – 9th Line on weekdays and GO Bus Route 70/71 – Stouffville • Walking distance increased by approximately 1,000 metres • Passengers along Stouffville Road between Highway 48 and Yonge Street will have no public transit options Existing Dial-a-Ride Service Implementation Date: • January 2020 Annual Savings: • Hours: 3,310 • Savings: $248,276 • Fleet: 1 (rush hour) Net Cost per Passenger - Fall 2018: • Rush Hour: $33.86 • Saturday: $119.80 • Sunday/Holiday: $122.55 15 2019-2022 Budget Reductions Route 22 – King City Existing Routing Proposed Service Changes: • Discontinue Saturday service due to low ridership Impacts/Improvements: • Approximately 62 passenger trips impacted • Maximum walking distance increased by approximately 4,000 metres • Alternative transit options include Route 88 – Bathurst, Viva blue or Dial-a-Ride Aurora and Oak Ridges, as well as the proposed Route 96 – Keele-Yonge Saturday service Implementation Date: • January 2020 Annual Savings: • Hours: 555 • Savings: $41,613 • Fleet: 1 (Saturday) Net Cost per Passenger - Fall 2018: • Saturday: $17.01 16 2019-2022 Budget Reductions Route 28 – Huntington Existing Routing Proposed Service Changes: • Discontinue service due to low ridership Impacts/Improvements: • Approximately 66 passenger trips impacted • Maximum walking distance increased by approximately 4,000 meters • Alternative transit options include Route 77 – Highway 7 and Brampton Transit Route 35 – Clarkway Implementation Date: • January 2020 Annual Savings: • Hours: 2,545 • Savings: $190,890 • Fleet: 1 (morning and afternoon rush hour) Net Cost per Passenger - Fall 2018: • Rush Hour: $13.35 17 2019-2022 Budget Reductions Route 44 – Bristol & Dial-a-Ride Bristol Existing Routing Proposed Service Changes: • Discontinue Saturday conventional service and evening Dial-a-Ride Bristol service due to low ridership Impacts/Improvements: • Approximately 46 passenger trips impacted on Saturdays • Approximately 1 to 2 passenger trips impacted during Saturday evenings • Maximum walking distance increased by approximately 1,000 metres • Alternative transit options include Route 98 – Yonge and Dial-a-Ride Holland Landing, as well the Existing Dial-a-Ride Service proposed On-Demand Newmarket service Implementation Date: • January 2020 Annual Savings • Hours: 667 • Savings: $49,998 • Fleet: 1 (Saturday) Net Cost per Passenger - Fall 2018: • Saturday: $15.11 18 • Saturday Evening: $34.22 2019-2022 Budget Reductions Route 56 – Gorham-Eagle Proposed Service Changes: Existing Routing • Discontinue Sunday/holiday service before 11 a.m. due to low ridership Impacts/Improvements: • Approximately 15 passengers impacted • Maximum walking distance increased by approximately 1,000 metres • Alternative transit
