Québec is divided: (1) (subparagraph repealed); (2) for the purposes of the administration of justice, into 36 judicial districts; (3) for the purposes of the publication of rights, into 73 registration divisions; (4) (subparagraph repealed). The names and composition of the judicial districts and registration divisions existing on 25 September 1973 shall not be affected by the coming into force, on such date, of the Act to amend the Territorial Division Act (1972, chapter 4). The description of the electoral divisions is now found in the Notice of the establishment of the list of electoral divisions; see (2011) 143 G.O. 2, 2969A. 4. Such electoral districts shall include all places within their respective boundaries, although not expressly enumerated in the list of places comprised. R. S. 1964, c. 5, s. 4; 1979, c. 57, s. 44. 5. That portion of a river of which the two banks are within one electoral district shall be comprised in such district. R. S. 1964, c. 5, s. 5. 6. The boundaries of every electoral district bounded by a river shall extend to the middle of said river. R. S. 1964, c. 5, s. 6. 7. The nearness of an island or islet to an electoral district shall be measured by the relative distance between either side of such island or islet and the shore of the opposite electoral district. R. S. 1964, c. 5, s. 7. 8. In any Act, proclamation, order in council or document whatsoever, the word “county” , meaning a county for electoral purposes, shall mean an electoral district. R. The 36 judicial districts are named and bounded as follows: JUDICIAL DISTRICTS S. 9 Abitibi, (1) Chief Place: Amos. The judicial district of Abitibi comprises the territory bounded as follows: starting from the point of intersection between the Québec/Ontario boundary line and the south line of the township of Hébécourt; thence, successively, the following lines: the south line of the townships of Hébécourt and Duparquet; part of the east line of the township of Duparquet; part of the dividing line between ranges IX and X of the township of Destor to the extension of the dividing line between lots 15 and 16 of range I of the township of Poularies; the said extension to the south line of the township of Poularies; part of the south line of the said township and the west line of the township of Aiguebelle; the south line of the townships of Aiguebelle and Manneville; the west line of the townships of Preissac, Cadillac and Surimau; the south line of the townships of Surimau, Fournière, Dubuisson, Bourlamaque and Louvicourt; the west line of the township of Villebon; the south line of the townships of Villebon, Denain, Ypres, Cambrai, Vimy, Lens, Festubert, Chouart and Radisson; part of the west line and the south line of the township of Gosselin; the south line of the townships of Choquette, David and Landry; the east line of the townships of Landry, Bazin, Tassé, Huguenin, Chapman, Marmette, McSweeney and Mathieu; part of the east line of the township of Balète to the extension of the northeast line of the township of Ingall; part of the said extension to the watershed dividing the basin of the St Lawrence river from that of Hudson’s Bay; the said watershed northeasterly to an astronomical meridian established on the land and originating at the north corner of the township of Albert; the said meridian northerly to its intersection with parallel 56°00′ North latitude; the said parallel easterly to the east boundary of Québec; the east boundary of Québec northerly to the shore (low water mark) of Ungava Bay; the low water mark of Ungava Bay, Hudson Strait, Hudson’s Bay and James Bay to the Québec/Ontario boundary line; finally, the said boundary
