It is located on the southern banks of the Krishna river in Guntur district,16.5730° N, 80.3575° E within the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region spread over an area of 217.23 km2 Amaravati, is situated in Guntur district, was once the seat of power of Satavahana rulers. Apart from the historical and cultural importance, the city is also centrally located. A report in The Indian Express notes that it is "easily accessible from north and south, coastal districts and the Rayalaseema region". OBJECTIVE 1. To collect details about various constructions started by the government of Andhra Pradesh. 2. Come up with a map showing locations of construction materials 3. To study and evaluate the properties of construction materials around the capital http://iaeme.com/Home/journal/IJCIET 404 [email protected] Mapping and Evaluation of Construction Materials in and Around Amaravathi-The Capital of Andhra Pradesh METHODOLOGY 1. Collection of literature. 2. Collection of relevant maps 3. Collection of data on mining locations. 4. Collection of samples. 5. Testing of samples. 6. Compilation of results. 7. Preparation of map and report showing construction materials. TESTS PERFORMED ON SAMPLES 1. Aggregate crushing test. 2. Aggregate impact test. 3. Specific gravity of Aggregates. 4. Abrasion test on aggregates. 5. Water absorption. 6. Flakiness and elongation index. All the above tests are performed based on IS 2386, IS 1124. IS 2386 is Indian standard for above tests on coarse aggregates and IS 1124 is for specific gravity and water absorption tests Various constructions proposed by government of Andhra Pradesh: Office components Table 1 Name Area Legislature 3,23,985 SFT (net Land area – 25 Acres) High Court 5,99,900 SFT (net Land area – 30 Acres) Housing components Table 2 Name Area Raj Bhavan/Governor (Office & Residence) 3,16,100 SFT (net Land area – 20 Acres) Amaravati House (State Guest House) 55,000 SFT (net Land area – 5 Acres) Chief Minister Residence 30,000 SFT (net Land area – 10 Acres ) Cabinet Minister’s Residences 1,00,000 SFT (net Land area – 10 Acres) MLA’s & MLC’s Quarters 9,34,000 SFT (net Land area – 15 Acres) Chief Justice Residence 15,000 SFT (net Land area – 5 Acres) Judge’s Residences 1,44,000 SFT (net Land area – 30 Acres) AIS Officer’s Residences 2,88,000 SFT (net Land area – 40 Acres) Gazetted Officer’s Quarters 9,36,000 SFT (net Land area – 20 Acres) Non-Gazetted Officer’s Quarters 20,52,000 SFT (net Land area – 40 Acres) Class IV Employees 2,04,750 sqft (net Land area – 6 Acres) http://iaeme.com/Home/journal/IJCIET 405 [email protected] Ayyappa.
