Josie Rourke Director Josie is the Artistic Director of the Donmar Warehouse, London. Josie was born and raised in Salford and read English at Cambridge before training under Sam Mendes at the Donmar Warehouse. She became trainee Associate Director at the Royal Court Theatre before taking up the role of Associate Director at Sheffield Theatres. Josie was appointed Artistic Director at the Bush Theatre, London in 2007 and during her tenure oversaw the acquisition and transfer of the theatre to its new home on the Uxbridge Road, winning Theatre of the Year 2011. The Donmar Warehouse: Saint Joan; Les Liaisons Dangereuses; The Vote; City of Angels (Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival); Privacy; Coriolanus; The Weir (transferred to Wyndham’s Theatre, West End); The Recruiting Officer; The Physicists; Berenice. Live Cinema and Television Broadcast: Coriolanus starring Tom Hiddleston; Les Liaisons Dangereuses starring Janet McTeer and Dominic West; Saint Joan starring Gemma Arterton and The Vote, co-created with writer James Graham, which was broadcast live onto television on the night of the 2015 UK General Election and nominated for a Best Live Event BAFTA. In America: Les Liaisons Dangereuses starring Liev Schreiber and Janet McTeer, The Booth Theatre, Broadway; Privacy, by James Graham, starring Daniel Radcliffe at The Public Theater, New York. The Machine by Matt Charman at The Park Avenue Armory and Twelfth Night at Chicago Shakespeare. The Bush Theatre: Sixty-Six Books; Like a Fishbone, If There Is I Haven’t Found It Yet, Apologia, Wrecks, 2000 Feet Away; Tinderbox; How To Curse.
