The Masterplan defines the preferred form of development for Tottenham Hale in order to facilitate a comprehensive development that will provide new jobs and homes. It sets out the main policies, principles and parameters for development to achieve a defined vision. The principal objective is to provide clear planning guidance for regeneration and redevelopment of the Tottenham Hale area, which will help ensure that major planning applications meet the strategic goals that have been set for the area. The Masterplan was the subject of an extensive public consultation exercise. Given the volume of representations received it was considered expedient to produce this separate document. This schedule sets out the name of the respondent, a summary of the representations made, the London Borough of Haringey’s comments and any resulting amendments made to the Draft Masterplan. The schedule is publicly available and may be viewed on the London Borough of Haringey’s web site. Summary of Representations, Responses & Changes All responses in respect of the public consultation exercise were assessed and considered. Where appropriate, the Draft Tottenham Hale Urban Centre Masterplan was amended to reflect the consultation responses. Summaries of all the representations that were received, the London Borough of Haringey’s responses and the changes made to the Draft Masterplan are set out in the following schedule. - 3 - Name of Summary of representation(s) received Haringey Council’s comments Recommended changes respondent R Pennyfather – 1. The purpose of the masterplan is to guide and control redevelopment of the area’s key sites in a coordinated manner, along with significant public realm - 4 - projects and infrastructure improvements. An application has been submitted for one of the key sites (GLS) which is in private ownership, and if developed, will undoubtedly have a knock-on effect upon Millmead and Lockwood. This natural progression could, in time, lead to an increase in land and building values, with improved facilities and infrastructure. It should be noted that Tottenham Hale is designated in the recently adopted UDP as a Defined Employment Area – Regeneration Area, which means it could be appropriate for comprehensive redevelopment or mixed-use. The fact that Millmead and Lockwood are within the masterplan boundary acknowledges they may be redeveloped in the longer-term, but permits additional planning control, and seeks to prevent any piecemeal redevelopment of the estates. 2.
