-- See English version below -- 7. Januar 2015 Newsletter 1/2016 Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren, das internationale literaturfestival berlin rief Ende November 2015 zu einer weltweiten Lesung am 14. Januar 2016 für den vom saudi-arabischen Regime zum Tode verurteilten 35-jährigen palästinensischen Dichter und Kurator Ashraf Fayadh auf. Über 300 AutorInnen, unter ihnen die LiteraturnobelpreisträgerInnen Herta Müller, Elfriede Jelinek, Orhan Pamuk, Wole Soyinka und Mario Vargas Llosa sowie die Präsidentin des PEN International, Jennifer Clement, unterzeichneten den Appell. Am 14. Januar finden an ca. 90 Orten in über 30 Ländern Veranstaltungen für Ashraf Fayadh statt. Unter anderem in Auckland, New York, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Santa Fe, St. Louis, Montreal, Santa Cruz/ Bolivien, Managua, Mexiko-City, Wien, Sofia, Athen, Bologna, La Spezia, Rom, Mailand, Turin, Basel, Biel/ Schweiz, Den Haag, Oslo, Kopenhagen, Göteborg, Stockholm, Lissabon, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Lancaster, Herefordshire, London, Norwich, Cardiff/ Wales, Zagreb, Belgrad, Kiew, Zaporizhzhya/ Ukraine, Moskau, Riga, Beirut, Port Louis/ Mauritius, Lagos, Ife/ Nigeria, Ibadan/ Nigeria, Ramallah, Singapur, Yangon und in vielen deutschen Städten. More than 300 authors, among them the Nobel Prize for Literature laureates Herta Müller, Elfriede Jelinek, Orhan Pamuk, Wole Soyinka and Mario Vargas Llosa as well as the president of the PEN International, Jennifer Clement, signed the appeal.
